Hi

I have asked for the following tests given the recent belief that I have a thyroid problem (TSH5.5)

TSH

FT3

FT4

Thyroid antibodies

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

The company do all those tests but not FT3

Is it worth going ahead or not?

I would appreciate your advice.

A FreeT3 test measures the amount of T3 hormone in your blood that is unbound ie free of its carrier protein so available to your cells. Total results tell you only the total amount, both bound and unbound, and the test has generally become redundant in the UK. I wouldn't have a set of tests that didn't include FT3.

Is this a private test?

If so then why not use one of the two companies that I linked to in your previous thread? I linked to the exact tests that included everything, including FT3.
