Some Blood Tests - Not lots of..

Just wanted to set out my lastest blood tests. I am getting a new set of Thyroid function, FBC, B12 and U&E tests later this month.

mid 2022 - TSH = 1.16 uUmL

Mid 2023 TSH = 0.90uUmL / FT4 = 17.1 pmol / FT3 3.7 pmol - updated for latest ft4

I have been borderline anaemic for three years nearly, and Vit D decificent in mid 2022. Supplementing with D3 3000ui a day.

TSH 0.9 mIU/L (0.27 - 4.2) 16.0%

Free T4 (fT4) 15.1 pmol/L (12 - 22) 31.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 3.7 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 16.2%

T4:T3 Ratio 4.081

Do these ranges look right? ( they vary from lab to lab)

How are you feeling? You have plenty of room for an increase if still symptomatic 🤗

Thanks Eeyore Half dead all of the time, mostly dead of a morning, hair loss, thin brittle nails, 5 layers of clothes for Tescos, dry skin, cramps and muscle aches... for over 6 years...more recently, and more worryingly...last 2-3 years peripheral neuropathy...and bizarrely tinnitis - but i do have high blood pressure.

I'm not surprised with results like that!

Neuropathy could be low B12 do you get jabs? Tinnitus comes with low thyroid and also low oestrogen..

Are you taking any supplements?

my B12 wasnt ever low, and i even did a year of SI to see if it made a difference. I was thought it was Pernicious Anaemia before that. Gradually trying to determine a diagnosis. My estrogen was low, but up to HRT normal now.

Thanks for the good thoughts and thinking - I do appreciate it Eeyore. x

What dose are you on? Many of us use heme iron to raise our levels

I just updated my FT4 with Nuffield tests I did i just re-found - so FT4 was 17.0 and FT3 still 3.37 - would a 5.04 ratio indicate anything?

What is the range on a Nuffield test?

The higher the ratio the worse your conversion rate 😕

How much T4?

Check your multi vit they generally aren't much good and many contain iodine which we really don't need... they also don't contain high enough levels for most of us and combine things which lock each other up 😕

The ratio shows how well you convert fT4 to fT3 (the active hormone) yours isn't great but you need to get your fT4 at least above 50% and sort out low iron.... most GP's have no understanding beyond TSH levels some may test fT4 but just say "yep, within range" 🤨

I will follow your good leads! :-) I use Tescos / Sainsbury for my vits - but will check them out. So, my fT4 should be greater or equal to 50% of my fT3?

Thanks tons again! for the help and time given 🌺🌻🌷🌼

Ah... I see, most people here have been diagnosed...I would say add a new post with your latest results when you have them done, might be useful if you start keeping a record of your temperature, resting heart rate and blood pressure could be used as evidence 😉

You might find something like Metavive would be worth looking at?
