New results, on NDT

Hi all. I've just had my blood results through and I'm a little stumped as to whether I'm under/over medicated?

Tsh 0.35 (0.27-4.20) T4 11.6 (11-25) T3 3.8 (3.1-6.8)

I'm on 2 grains naturthroid. I upped 3 months ago from 1 grain but I'm still feeling tired, brain fog, achey legs. My last bloods showed my T3 was much much higher but then i did take my meds 4 hrs befre my test which i was advised not to (forgot, stupid brain fog πŸ˜†) I'm still getting to grips with how NDT works so any help would be gratefully received. Thanks

Witchgurl31 There aren't "area" ranges, the ranges are specific to the laboratory which tested your blood and aren't interchangeable. πŸ™‚

When taking an NDT, low in range FT4 is normal but yours is at the bottom; much more importantly though, is your FT3 which is likewise far too low. Your results and symptoms seem to indicate a further dose increase is required.

If anything, slightly under medicated as your free T3 is too low in range (most people need it around 5.5) and free T4 is also lower than most people feel well on. But it depends how you feel

When on NDT as others have said , the results are read differently. So TSH is suppressed so yours is still a little higher than I would suspect. FT4 can fall but FT3 should be high in the rang but never over. So you do have room for taking a higher dose. I wasalso advised that once up to two grains then additions are in smaller amounts-a quarter at a time. So increase more slowly than before.

Not what you're looking for?
