The advice for thyroid meds is one hour before breakfast or two hours after. So yes, you can take your NDT 2 hours after breakfast.

If your doctor doses by TSH, be aware that the fact that you ate before your blood test may affect that result. But TSH is generally low, sometimes suppressed, when taking NDT which I hope your doctor knows and wont be dosing by TSH.

Yes I did think about that she thinks I’ve gone hyper hence more blood work. I felt quite dizzy hence me having to eat.

If you prefer you can take your dose at bedtime - as long as your last meal was 3 hours before. If you do take a bedtime dose, miss this the night before a test and take after the test which should be fasting and night dose as usual the same day..

I ended up cancelling my blood test today as don’t feel well enough. It’s now booked tomorrow at 10. I’ve messed my dosage times up a bit now. Had first dose 9.30 what is best time to take 2nd dose today with blood test tomorrow at 10?

I've only ever had one daily dose of whatever hormones I've been on. It makes it easier to find a window when to eat etc and gives you a life which isn't dominated by hormones. This is from a doctor who was an Adviser to thyroiduk.org.uk go to the date January 30, 2002

This is an excerpt from the following link:-

"Straight after taking a T3 containing medication, the TSH level begins to fall and stays suppressed for 5 hours. The Free T3 level increases after taking the medication and hits a peak after three to four hours. This means that if you were to take your T3 containing thyroid medication within 5 hours of getting your thyroid tests done, your test results may imply that you are overdosed, even when you’re accurately dosed. They could also suggest your levels are within normal ranges or optimal, when you’re actually under medicated. So it can affect your ability to get an accurate result and adjust dosage properly.

Therefore, you’re best to hold off taking this medication until after the blood draw. Instead, take it with you and take it immediately after the test so it starts kicking in ASAP."

So I'd take second dose now and then tomorrow take first dose after test.

There should be 12 hours between last dose of NDT and blood draw, this is because it contains T3 and it's the FT3 that's the most important important test when on NDT or T3. So you could take it around 10pm, up to about midnight, as long as you leave 3 hours from your evening meal if that's your biggest meal of the day.
