I just had my blood test results, I am self medicating with NDT and my results are generally going in the right direction. My questions is how can I raise my Free Thyroxine and how can I lower my Ferritin levels ( I am not taking iron supplements)?
Thanks

my t4 and TSH is on the bottom of the ranges, TSH in the 0.002 and I feel not too bad. I self medicate with NDT. if you feed your body with t3, the body gets what the body needs and didn't care much about getting lots of t4.
Thanks all, I've been having private blood tests and this time there was a suggestion to keep an eye on ft4 as it is a bit low and also to check Ferritin as it is very high, CRP is low.
Can't really remember Missimal I was prescribed them for a few years because every time I came off them my levels dropped drastically, I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy and no problems found apart from a few ulcers. I haven't been taking iron for probably about 2 years or so
If it was me I’d increase my ndt. I always monitor temps with a basal thermometer to ensure temp are near to 36.50 as possible. You take the average and if there is any difference of more than 0.3 that indicates your adrenals are not functioning well. Any temps below 36.50 means you are on insufficient meds.
Personally I’d increase until I felt really well and the temps were spot on. Ideally your free t4 should be in range and t3 higher too.
I’d certainly be speaking to a gp re ferretin being so high.
Thanks Howard. I take my temperature first thing in the morning and it usually ranges between 35.1 and 35.6. I've never done the average, I will do that. My adrenals are way way too high! Dr has been uninterested in ferritin levels!
Temps are lower first thing but that v low- a good 1 degree out so room to increase your ndt. You should do 8 per day for 4 days if increasing your dose.
( see Sarah Myhill.com under orchestra- it’s a good read with a chart etc)
Please could I ask which is high your dhea or cortisol?
