I have my blood test results back and I have to say I am quite pleased with them.
It seems my Thyroid has dropped from 5.7 to 3.59 and I assume this is due to the NDT I have been taking - although I don't feel much better.
My Vitamin D has gone up from 38.52 to 75 - I have been taking 10000 D3 daily. I did think it would be higher than that though as I've just come back from 3 weeks in the sun.
The doctor commented on high CRP levels which is associated with inflammation. I do have fibro though and I suspect arthiritis so it could be that. But maybe it is also because I am covered in Mosquito bites and reacted badly to a horsefly bite lol.
My Ferritin has shot up from 118 to 205 but apparantly as the CRP level is also high it's most likely pointing to inflammation.
B12 is borderline according to the doctor but as I have gut issues I suspect it's down to poor absorption as I am taking supplements.
I will post the results below as I would love to know what each one means but am I right to feel optimistic? Finally?
Biochemistry
hs-CRP H 55.93 Normal range: <5.0 mg/L
Ferritin H 205. Normal range: 0 13 - 150 ug/L
Thyroid Function
TSH 3.59 Normal range: 0.27 - 4.20 mIU/L
T4 Total 96.4 Normal range: 66 - 181 nmol/L
Free T4 12.20 Normal range: 12.0 - 22.0 pmol/L
Free T3 3.52 Normal range: 3.1 - 6.8 pmol/L
Immunology
Anti-Thyroidperoxidase abs 9.7 Normal range: <34 kIU/L
Anti-Thyroglobulin Abs <10 Normal range: <115 kU/L
Vitamins
Vitamin D (25 OH) 75
Vitamin B12 260
Serum Folate 22.30 Normal range: 8.83 - 60.8 nmol/
Is there anything there that would suggest why I continue to have thyroid symptoms i.e cold hands/feet, lethargic, inability to lose weight, dry skin etc etc? Or do I just need to suck it up?

You are still undermedicated which is why you are experiencing symptoms.
When taking NDT one would expect a low, even suppressed TSH, a lowish FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of the range (if that is where you feel well), so you still have a fair way to go.
You need to get Vit D up to 100-150nmol which is the level recommended by the Vit D Council, the Vit D Society and Grassroots Health. When you've reached that level you need to find your maintenance dose by trial and error. Are you taking D3's important cofactors - magnesium and Vit K2-mk7?
If that is serum B12 at 260 then that is low. Do you have any signs of B12 deficiency, check here b12deficiency.info/signs-an...
According to Sally Pacholok in her book "Could it be B12" we need a level of at last 550, best is top of range. You may need testing for B12 deficiency/pernicious anaemia.
Thank you for responding. This group is so much more helpful than my doctor.
Firstly I stupidly didn't take my NDT for 3 weeks due to holidaying abroad. I was concerned about taking it as it's mainly written in Thai and I had nightmares about foreign customs officials detaining me.
I do believe I need to increase the dose slightly by maybe 1/2 a tab. I currently take 2 per day but it certainly appears to be doing something to the results if not my state of mind or physical ability.
I will continue with a high dose D3 and yes I also take k2 in the correct format and although I haven't been taking the magnesium I do have it so I will introduce that. Thank you 😁 I had hoped my D3 levels would be higher due to all the sun but hey ho I'll get on top of it.
I will check that B12 deficiency link and get back. Hopefully it's not PA though and maybe I just need to increase my B12.
Would you happen to know where I can find out the best method and times for taking all these supplements please? I would hate to think that I am wasting time by taking them wrong. I know to take the d3 with food but I'm wondering if one is competing with the other.
Take 2 hours away from thyroid meds, some need 4 hours (Vit D, magnesium, calcium, iron)
Vit D - take with the fattiest meal of the day as it needs fat to be absorbed. Some people find taking Vit D in the evening affects their sleep so you might want to take that no later than lunchtime. I do sometimes take mine with my evening meal and it doesn't affect me.
K2 - also fat soluble so take with some dietary fat
Magnesium - can be calming so might be best taken in the evening in case it makes you sleepy. I take mine about half an hour before I go to bed.
B Vitamins - these can be stimulating so best taken in the morning, no later than lunchtime.
Did you return to strictly gluten free diet. Even though you appear not to have Hashimoto's, many hypothyroid patients find it helps or is essential
As SeasideSusie says, you need to tweak your dose upward. Your results show low FT4 and FT3 and then retest in 6-8 weeks
B12 and folate are borderline. You may benefit from a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in. Eg Igennus Super B or Jarrow B-right
If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results
I am going to increase my NDT slightly and see how that helps.
I am taking high dose D3 along with K2mk7 and I am going to introduce the magnesium.
I also take a sublingual B12 but as I didn't have that tested last time I have nothing to gauge the current result against.
I am following gluten free as much as I can. It seems impossible to shop though as I also have to cut out yeast, wheat, lactose and a few other things. It feels like I may as well just sit with an empty plate at dinner lol but I'm looking into a keto type diet as I've heard it helps. Do you have any thoughts on that?
Thank you again for responding. This is literally the only place where I don't feel like I'm making it all up and that folk truly do understand.
