TSH test - is it needed?

I'm located in USA.

These are my two questions:

Should i ask for TSH to be tested, too? what about B12 and folate?

Should I increase my Vitamin D before my blood test on June 15?

Background:

I saw my GP about a month ago as I was becoming increasingly weak and fatigued.

Medications and supplements were:

levothyroxin 62.5 mcg daily since Dec 2017 ( i have been on different doses since 2016)

vitamin D 8000iu daily since Dec 2017 (test in December 30 (30-100)

iron biglycinate 50MG daily since Dec 2017 (test in December 16 (10-232)

a bunch of expensive supplements a holistic doctor was selling me to heal my leaky gut and heal my liver, since March.

Blood test showed elevated liver enzymes (but not hepatitis) , so Dr. reduced my Vitamin D to 4000IU once a week. She also told me to stop other supplements the holistic doctor prescribed.

Other blood test results 4/27/2018 were:

Vit D 1,25 DiOH 49 (18-72)

TSH 3rd Gen 1.25 (0.4-4.50)

T3 Free 2.5 (2.3-4.2)

T 4 Free 1.4 (0.8-1.8)

Iron 56 (40-190)

IBC 316 (250-450)

Iron % sat 18 (11-50%)

Doctor increased my Levothroxin to 75mcg and instructed to come back in 4 weeks for a blood test.

I emailed Dr to ask what the blood test was for: elevated liver enzymes or thyroid? I suggested we waited 6 weeks to test T3 and T4, Vit D,25 hydroxy, and ferritin.

She responded by sending me a prescription for a blood test to test:

Hepatic function panel, free T3, Free T4, Ferritin, Vitamin D. (I had to go into the office to make them change it to Vitamin D 25-hydroxy from 1,25 diOH).

Right now i am so fatigued and weak and am aware of my pulse. I feel that i need to lie down-all day and all night. I think it was a mistake to reduce my Vitamin D.

I greatly appreciate anyone's feed back on my questions-

Should i ask for TSH to be tested, too? what about B12 and folate?

Should I increase my Vitamin D before my blood test on June 15?

I'm going to post another question asking if anyone can recommend an Endo in my area.

Thanks again.

As you have the good luck to have your FT4 and FT3 tested, I wouldn't bother with the TSH. It doesn't give you any extra information.

I'm afraid I can't answer your question about vit D. Sorry. :)
