Update after vitamin B injections, feeling so much better

It's awesome how much better I feel. Last week I had loading dose of B1 (33mg) B6 (33mg) B12 (0.33 mg) injection. Three injections in 4 days. And now I feel fast improvement.

Muscular fatigue is moderate, can climb up stairs without feeling exhausted.

Appetite increased and digestion improved. Stomach acid needs B1.

Blood pressure increased a bit which works for me as I have had such a low blood pressure.

Heart rate steady 65.

Need less sleep, wake up feeling better rested. No need to lay down during the day.

Achilles tendon/calf pain lessened.

Feeling more calm and relaxed.

And just these few symptoms improved has already made my life easier and tolerable during past few days.

Can't run a marathon but can cope normal chores far better.

For now it remains a mystery was I thiamine deficient, did it kick the mitochondria to work and finally made cells to use thyroid hormones as my thyroid numbers were ideal but no improvement until now. Iodine and iron improved my thyroid so haven't had the need to trial thyroid med. Hopefully never need to.

B1, B6 and B12 orally didn't work for me. This was very cheap and fast way to test if these vits would do the trick.

I can only hope continuing this injection as often as needed will keep me at least this healthy.

Justina, I’m intrigued. I’ve been struggling since last September, prior to this my health was fine despite my ua thyroid.

I suspect the extreme emotional stress I was under sent my system crazy, and while I’m still waiting to see the blood results (although gp said they’re fine 🤔), I suspect I may be bottom of the range for b12 etc.

What were your symptoms? Mine was fatigue, tinnitus, headaches to name a few but I still get very heavy legs, fluttery heart, dizziness and low heart rate a lot of the time, amongst other things!

I think I may have a fight on my hands to get the gp to buy into any treatment for my vit levels!

Unfortunately it seems very hard to get treatment :( took me two decades. During the years I have had two main symptoms which were general fatigue and muscular fatigue, but have had wide range of different symptoms coming and going including dizziness, irregular heart beat , bad nausea, irritable bowel syndrome etc etc.

Heavy legs has been one the worst ones , has been hard to just stand still but B12 helped with it some but enough. I was able to do more but increased physical activity revealed the over all muscular fatigue that didn't improve and just B12 wasn't working no more and my homocysteine increased if I went off of B12. That's why my doctor suggested trial of vit B injections.

Stress depletes all vitamins and nutrients , and having thyroid issues makes one even more vulnerable. Sounds bad to hope your results are not good despite what your doctor says, then you know what to fix by yourself if your doctor refuse to help.

During the years I have continuously had normal blood tests coming back perfect ,my current doc only tested thyroid, prealbumin, ferritin, b12 and homocysteine and narrowed down probable treatments and future tests. But my doctor actually listen to me which probably helps to figure out what tests are important.

I'm jealous!

I would love to be given B vitamin injections, and also vitamin C injections. I've never investigated whether such things might be available over the counter anywhere. I know injectable B12 is available in some countries but I'm not so sure about the others.

No idea if neurobion is available over counter, only as tablets but what's the point as for example B1 is so vulnerable to any gut issues and might never reach target cells. I just got prescription for 12 more injections taken as I feel it's necessary. My doctor was so happy I was one of those benefitting this. Can't be tested except by trialing. They have had good results with many patients like me. If all goes good this is all I need to be functional.

Thiamine comes in more than one form. There is a fat-soluble type of thiamine called benfotiamine. I have considered supplementing this because of gut issues, but haven't done so yet.

Izabella Wentz mentions taking it herself :

I'm assuming that fat-soluble benfotiamine might be absorbed more easily, but I'm really not sure.

Yeah some get the benefit from the bentothiamine. I'd recommend to try it. I was given injections as the build up of lactic acid and failure of energy levels were so devastating. Will be kept on jabs as it provides steady release ,and B6 and B12 are necessary cofactors on mitochondrial level. Intramuscular it's faster and targeted.

Also my homocysteine increase fast and my doc figured this is easier to keep it low than just taking sublingual B12.

If you benefit of thiamine it happens fast so you should go for it. Need of magnesium increases on B1.

Hi. Justin

Are you still taking these injections? How are you finding them?

Hi Justiina,I hope you are well.

I know that this post was from a year ago but I was wondering if these injections helped you long term? I have Hashi's and Pernicious Anaemia and despite being treated for both I still suffer with muscles aches and fatigue. I'm wondering whether Thiamine may help me?

Not what you're looking for?
