Latest results, almost there?

Good morning all,

I'm currently taking 175mcg Levothyroxine and firmly believe that for T4 only treatment this is suiting me the best it can. This week I took my first ever medicheck blood test to get a completely accurate picture of where I'm at.

I welcome anybodys own interpretation of the results, I feel that my conversion is good, although not quite perfect (ideal world ay).

B12- Pleased with this, I’m going to reduce my supplementation slightly.

Ferritin – Has been maintained since last testing, I welcome thoughts on this level?

Folate – Have been taking prescribed Folic Acid 5mg tablets for almost three months now. They have raised my level slightly, but will consider purchasing a methylated form of folate once this supply ends?

Vit D – Not included on this test, although I’m confident it’s at a good level, due a retest in a couple of months.

Antibodies- I have a limited knowledge about antibodies. My diagnosis is graves disease, and it’s my understanding that these levels indicated that I have not got hashis to worry about either?

With all this in mind, I think I'm in a good position at the moment, if I've had a good nights sleep I don't struggle anywhere near as much as I did 12 months ago.

Thank you in advance anyway.

How are you feeling ? Have your hypo symptoms gone now?

The complaints I had which first motivated me to post on this forum last year have mostly subsided. I think I do have some issues with my energy levels but as I say I think this may be down to my current sleep routine, if I have a good night's sleep I find myself managing well. I also have a few factors causing extra stress at the moment so I think this is impacting me. As for my thyroid health I feel it is not impacting negatively now. Thanks

Yes your results look pretty good. TSH, FT4 and FT3 good. Low antibodies

Only folate is a bit low, as you say perhaps changing to a good vitamin B complex with folate in might tweak that up a bit.

If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

Suggest you check your vitamin D in autumn to keep an eye on it

Thank you, I will check out the links and find a complex which suits me.

So, if you had a diagnosis of Grave's, did you have a TT or RAI? People with Grave's don't normally take 175 mcg levo. :)

Perhaps I should have clarified sorry, I had a total thyroidectomy about 7 years ago when I was 15 as Radioactive iodine is not used on people under the age of 21 apparently. Graves was the cause of the overactive back then.

OK, :) Well, your results look quite good. But, as others have said, the most important thing is how you feel.
