Why am I still having symptoms when my results are like this.

TSH 0.34 (0.35 - 5)

FT4 16 (9 -19)

FT3 3.7 (2.6 -5.7)

No Hashis

I am om 75mcg and the endo is keeping me at that level but getting a blood test in 8weeks.

I have taken your advice. I am taking vit D. Eating really well. Trying to protect my gut health. Cut down on sugar. Removing soya as much as possible. Trying to reduce dairy and gluten

Not sure where to go next.

Your FT3 is too low. It is 35% through it's range.

FT4 is 70% through it's range.

FT4 and FT3 should be in balance, in the upper part of the range of that is where you feel well.

You could do with some T3 added to your Levo.

T3 do you mean ndt?

No, I mean T3 - liothyronine. T3 can be prescribed on the NHS if you have an endo who agrees but it is becoming increasingly difficult as CCGs are stopping g it due to cost. Some members self source.

We had the conversation about liothyronine and he can't prescribe it unless I am in thyroid crisis. The GMMMG won't do it unless it's exceptional circumstances. He acknowledged he can't stop me getting it myself though.

Is he willing to monitor you if you self source?

Why cannot these 'professionals' (small P) not realise that T4 has no purpose but to convert to T3. It is the ACTIVE T3 which is required in all of our T3 receptor cells in order to drive our whole metabolism.

When we take natural dessicated thyroid hormones (NDT) it contains all of the hormones a healthy gland would produce, T4, T3, T2, T1 and calcitonin. Calcitonin helps bones.

People who have had thyroid cancer have to have a suppressed TSH and don't appear to drop dead with heart attacks or crippled with osteo.

A past post in a similar vein:-

Say if they reduce your T4 you'd like to have T3 added to your T4 to enable you to have a higher T3.

So liothyronine. Would I need to go private? Or look elsewhere?
