Does anyone know of a GP in Scotland who will prescribe NDT. I'm already taking T4 and T3, but would like to move onto NDT as I have in reading weight and eye problems.

Can you post any recent results and expand on how you are feeling as I'm sure that will help with replies though in the UK most are just waking up.

I believe NDT is not available in Scotland due to Health Board Regulations.

As far as I understad NDT can be prescribed on a named patient only basis by any GP - not quite sure what that actually means! I am prescribed NDT (Armour) by my GP on that basis. I had to prove my case and he eventually agreed to prescribe it fir me. Our Health Boatd has canned GP’s from prescribing T3 so there is a chance that NDT will be next.

That's interesting t3rcam, that answers a question I have been trying to find out all week - are the health board stopping T3 from being prescribed as I've been fighting for it all week and getting nowhere. Didn't know you could get NDT on prescription, does it need to get health board approval too or did you get it at the pharmacy no quibble, are you in Scotland?

Hi Syd35

My GP prescribed it & I collect it from the pharmacy no problem at all. Yes I am in North East Scotland.
