Hi I thought I was taking ndt but
looking at the bottle it says Liothyronine (T3)
Levothyroxine (T4)
Isn’t this the synthetic thyroid? I thought I was taking ndt.

Don’t worry, NDT will state liothyronine and levothyroxine on the bottle. That’s quite normal.
Both are natural made from pigs glands so it is not synthetic at all .iam on it myself and I can’t tolerate anything which is synthetic .i was allergic to Levothyroxine
Yes, it is one of the brands of desiccated thyroid (commonly known as NDT). You can get information about Nature-Throid by visiting the manufacturers website here getrealthyroid.com
NDT mine is Nature Throid - I don’t know about the synthetic T3 - though if my Nature Throid keeps not suiting me as well as it should I may have to loook at other options 👀 at moment I’m getting hair loss , gritty eyes , awful shoulder pains - myself weakness In Arms - and yet I feel sooo much better than when on just Levothyroxine
Are you on the right dose, should you increase it?
I really don’t know - I’ve put my latest Medichecks bloods up here about a month ago - I’m on 3 grains a day - AIP DIET - take supplements, magnesium, selenium , Vit C , zinc, collagen - aloe Vera , bone broth, CBD with turmeric , DHEA , Bio Identical hormones ! Ha ha I’m a full time job ! Strangely I’ve had a great 7 days of energy - ( no idea why ) or if it will last - having MRI on shoulders - private Endo not much help really just use him for prescription-
SOUNDS LIKE YOU need a increase in meds....or undermedicated...
Maybe - but I get palpitations & breathless feel light headed at times - thought that was over medicated ?
there has been numerous reports of nature throid being weaker since they reformulated this past year...if you split your dose you shouldn't get paps after taking but I found out that paps etc can be undermedicated if joined with joint problems and other things...breathless is also a sign of low iron...and I don't see d3 w k2 on your list..i take 5000 a day because unless you are naked outside in the sun or work a lot..most of us are deficient especially w age and aches is one sign..so I hope dr tested that...3 grains is a lot...but you prob already know but don't take any supplements within 4 hours of med and even caffeine and calcium can effect it as well in foods so one person I know had to leave off her coffee and another had to change orange juice that didn't have calcium in it..some people more sensitive than others....just ideas throwing out there....
Very welcome to ideas - I do split my dose - take on empty tum am lunch & 6pm - in itself a difficulty as they’re all mealtimes !
My D3 was ok ( I travel a lot for work - Africa in November & walk dog daily by the sea here in kent )
I don’t take calcium ( maybe I should ?) what is WK2 ?
So much to learn - the AIP regime takes all my time ! I now eat liver once a weak as some helpful peeps on here said my B Vits low ( I do take aB12 sub lingual & B complex last thing at night ( so yes away from meds’ ) but I don’t take the magnesium selenium etc 4 hours away ?
wk2 is make sure you take d3 with k2 because it protect your arteries and makes the d3 go to teeth and bones....thats what my dr insist...you may need a new blood test and look at free t3 to see if it is top of normal but not over and free t4 is midway in normal range ....which is what is optimal...i say that bec i had paps and it turned out i was too low and i have had paps when i was too high......sort of like headaches..i have had headache when i was too high and pain behind a eye...and i have had a slight headache when i was low and
a slight neck ache both when i was too high and too low...so it was can very confusing...sofor me if my fingers swell a little or i have tendonistis in arm hand or wrist or feet aches on the bottom of foot......i know for sure i am undermedicated.....hence i found that out the hard way...i fell within normal range but was not optimal and when i raised dosage...all of that went away and i had been struggling with it for over 2 years.....not one dr told me....i raised it on my own and then took another labtest and took to dr to get her to raise my meds and show her i was still in normal range but without pain...hope that helps...my dr test reverse t3 ft4 ft3 tsh.....and i have never had antibodies elevated....and she says selenium, iron, b12, d3 with k2, zinc balanced w copper, have to optimalwithout being too high or too low for thyroid or meds to work correctly....and to keep stress down and sleep no less than 8 hours a day....
