I will be starting NDT in a few days and wondered if NDT should be taken in the same way as Thyroxine, ie. 4 hrs away from iron and 1 hr away from food?

Fixit, yes same guidance applies as NDT contains T4 and T3.
You need to take a split dose, as the half life of t3 is much shorter than t4. I take 2 doses a day , some people even take 3. If you are starting with one tab, you can cut it in half with a scalpel, i found pill cutters a waste of time.
Thanks for the tips Bluedaffodil. I will try a split dose and invest in a scalpel. I did try and split a pill but in crumbled!
I find that a clean Stanley knife blade works well for splitting.
I found the thyroid patient advocacy guidelines really helpful in making a gradual switch from Levo to thyroids and have never looked back!

The pill cutter I got in Boots works ok for splitting the tablets it is not a exact science so to speak but exact enough to make me feel loads better!
