NDT PLUS LEVOTHYROXINE

Hi, I read in "Tired Thyroxine' that NDT has too much T3 relative to T4. . . that some people benefit from taking a mixture of NDT and T4. Has anyone come across this idea and tried mixing NDT and Levothyroxine and if so in what proportion please?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

We are all different in our needs for the level of each hormone, T4 and T3.

Some of us only need to take T4 (Levo) as we can convert it into T3 well enough.

Some of us don't convert well and need to take both hormones.

Some do well on the balance of T4 to T3 in NDT, some of us do better adding T3 to Levo so we can fine tune the doses of each.

Some find add ng extra T4 or extra T3 to NDT works for them.

It's very individual.

NDT didn't suit me but I now take Levo plus some T3 and have found the doses of each that's best for me by trial and error.

If you don't mind perhaps I could post a photo of my last results which includes all vitamins.

Maybe you could advise on what needs tweaking. I have NDT, Levo and Liothyroxine here to alter any parameter you believe necessary.

You can add a photo to your opening post in the thread by using the edit facility which you'll see if you click on the down arrow V below your post. Make sure it is clear though, too small or too feint and we won't be able to see it.

Or you could type your results with reference ranges.

People say that to put you off NDT - it's one of the arguments doctors use. But, it's silly, because a good deal of T3, even with NDT, comes from conversion. And, excess T4 is excreted. You need to concentrate on your personal needs, and not take any notice of such unfounded generalisations. :)
