Doctors have pulled it off. These are thyroid results.

Pathology Investigations

Serum TSH level < 0.01 mIU/L [0.35 - 4.94]

Below low reference limit

Serum free T4 level 20.80 pmol/L [9.01 - 19.05]

Above high reference limit

Serum free triiodothyronine level 3.90 pmol/L [2.63 - 5.7]

Haemoglobin A1c level - IFCC standardised 32 mmol/mol [20.0 - 41.0]

And the doctors has put no future action. Even know t4 is high.

Thanks for anyone help.xx

Your FT3 level is in range so even if FT4 is a tiny bit over range the doctor is probably not worried about it. Are you taking thyroid medication and have you got thyroid antibodies?

175mg a day since 2015. And she did a medical review without me. There wasn’t any thyroid antibodies on any of the two blood test. I don’t think there was down.

As long as your FT3 stays in range that is fine. Do you feel well? If not, if you had an increase in thyroxine, as long as your FT3 stays in range, that is fine.

I’ve wake up most morning. With a very dry mouth. And finding it hard to breathe. I’d take my inhaler. And with chest pains. Also my nose is bunged up as well, I keep sneezing as well. And coughing every so oftener. And tied all the time as well.xx

Your FT3 is on the low side you also need your antibodies tested, vitamins and minerals too.

The reason why ft3 is low. It’s been keep that way. I had thyroid cancer. And had to have the whole thyroid removed and treatment along with Levo for the rest of my life.

You mean TSH should be kept low after Thyroid cancer

FT3 should be higher, at least half way in range. You may have low vitamin levels or be a poor converter

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, TT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies. Plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12.

Essential to test thyroid antibodies, FT3 and FT4, plus vitamins

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting.

If on Levothyroxine, don't take in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)

Come back on new post with full results once you have got them done

You may need addition of small dose of T3

Professor Toft recent article saying, T3 may be necessary for many, note especially his comments on current inadequate treatment following thyroidectomy

Prof Toft was President of British Thyroid Association 1996-2009

Past President of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh

Physician to the Queen in Scotland

Consultant of Endocrinology, specialising in thyroid disease, at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh 1978-2009.

Its TSH I've seen that has to be low after Thyroid cancer. To me you look as though you aren't converting well as FT3 low but FT4 high. As is mentioned above you need to test Vit D, B12, folate and ferritin as results suggest some orcall of those could be low and we need them optimal to help your thyroid work better and to help with conversion. It can take time depending how low you are but well worth the effort.

Not what you're looking for?
