This shows my T4 at just over range what does this mean?
To a doctor - a high FT4 along with a suppressed TSH means overmedicated.
BUT you can't be overmedicated when your FT3 is in range, and yours is well within range, in fact it is quite low and with that FT4 you don't appear to be converting T4 to T3 all that well. Good conversion takes place when FT4/FT3 ratio is 4/1 or 3/1. Yours is 22.4 / 4.62 = 4.84 / 1 You would probably benefit from the addition of T3 to a slightly lower dose of Levo according to those results.
I thought both antibodies would come down once I was gluten free so I don’t understand
That's just the nature of Hashi's, the antibodies will fluctuate. You've done well to reduce the one type of antibody - another test at another time will probably show different levels - so gluten free is helping.
B12 is high so I stopped supplements a while ago
You shouldn't just stop, you should adjust dose to a maintenance dose. When my B12 got high I just reduced the number of days per week I supplemented, I now know from subsequent testing how much I need to take to keep my level at around 1000.
Your high CRP is indicating that there is inflammation or infection somewhere, but it is a non-specific test.
As you are taking Vit D, you should also be taking magnesium, it is another important cofactor along with K2.
Thank you SeasideSusie I wondered how I would know whether I was converting T4 sufficiently I thought so long as my TSH stayed suppressed I must be!
I guess the problem I’m going to have is trying to get my GP to prescribe T3?!! Sometimes I’m not up for the fight, other times I feel like I can face it.
I think the CRP is due either to my inflammatory arthritis or OLP??
B12 because my levels were so above range I guess I just stopped but you are right I would be better to go back to taking a maintenance dose. The difficulty is knowing what that is?
But regards the antibodies that has made me feel much better thank you for your explanation 😁 I agree going gluten free has made a big difference too to my gut issues which, along with drinking kefir every day, are almost non existent now! Seems like I need to continue.
Thank you so much. I will carry on learning there is so much to take in 😁
GP wont prescribe T3, only an endo can do that initially, but at the moment they're basically being told not to start new patients on it and are even taking it away from patients who are doing well on it. Lots of us take things into our own hands and self source/self medicate with T3.
You are probably correct about your CRP.
With B12, it's just a case of trial and error. Testing whilst supplementing gives skewed results anyway, you can't get a baseline unless you stop taking them for 4-5 months. However, I have found that retesting does indicate whether you are taking enough. I went from taking 1000mcg daily to taking 1000mcg 4 or 5 days a week and that seems to keep my level stable. I am now doing a full vitamin/mineral check once a year (with Medichecks or BH) but Vit D I do twice a year.
Gluten free/kefir - seems like you're on the right track
Oh I see but I never see an endo my GP says they can look after me at the surgery so I don’t need to see one 🙄maybe I need to read up a bit more then on DIY T3 it feels like I just get one thing sorted (gut) then something else raises its head!!
You are right about B12 I’ve been increasing my steps per day but in doing that I need an afternoon nap!! So maybe I do need to start again. Your regime seems like a good one.
