Getting desperate now...

Hello, I am new here, so please bare with me...

I have been diagnosed with Hypo in 2007 after my pregancy, and I was told that is was autoimune?

Now, 10 years later, I still going up on dosage (225mcg now), symptoms getting worst.

Blood tests ever made? TSH constantly and T4 a few times. Never T3 or B12 or Vit D, nor anything that I saw on most posts...

I am gaining weight, although I exercise 6h a week, have a good diet; have an IUD because my periods were getting crazy with PMS and hemorragy; have no libido whatsoever; have joint and muscle pains; dry and itchy skin, constant fatigue/tiredness, but I do not have any hair loss!

My GPs are not interested.

All my symptoms are either from age (I'm 43!); or because I'm fat - need to eat less and exercise more; or because I have two smallish daughters (fatigue and bad sleep); or a simple shoulder shrug.

I am desperate now.

I don't feel confortable to demand more tests or referral because I'm neither a health professional (have no idea what or why to demand) and I do not feel "welcomed" by the GP, I feel like I am a burden....

Sorry... just putting it out of my chest... I do not know what to do!

Can I get private test and take them to my GP? What can I do?!

Thank you all and sorry for the "out burst"

You can get a private test but there's no guarantee that your GP will acknowledge them. However, it would be a good place to start and members can help.

You can get a full thyroid panel plus all the important vitamins and minerals with a fingerprick test (or arrange a blood draw if you prefer).

Same test, different companies:

medichecks.com/thyroid-func... - check tomorrow as they have special offers every Thursday and it might be discounted

bluehorizonmedicals.co.uk/t...

Make a new thread when you have the results.

Essential to test vitamins and antibodies as well as FT3

On offer today at Medichecks

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)

If antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known by medics here in UK more commonly as autoimmune thyroid disease).

About 90% of all hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's

Hi, thank you! I have ordered tonight, thank you! You're correct there, my GP always said/wrote non fasting, no more recommendations.

Thank you!

Hi! Thank you.

No, all my tests were non fasting and never stopped Levo, mostly done mid morning, as per GP instructions.

Listed below are the "latest" results I had, hence the dates after...

Serum TSH = 3.9 (0.27-4.2) on 01/12/2017

Serum Folate = 6.2 ( > 3.4) on 28/07/2017

Serum Ferritin = 47 (20-291) on 28/07/2017

Serum vitamin B12 = 419 (211-911) on 28/07/2017

Serum free T4 = 13 (9-13) and serum TSH = 3.9 (0.55-4.8) on 12/05/2017

Serum free T3 = 4.3 (3.5-6.5) on 04/08/2011

Thyroid peroxidase antibod lev = 1300 > (no normal range available) on 08/10/2007.

I have ordered the Medichecks' Thyroid Check UltraVit tonight.

Thank you so much for your advice.
