I'm new here. I'm 34 and have had on going symptoms for a longtime. I'm under consultant care for possible crohns disease having on going investigations and one of them was another blood test but this time it showed my THS to be 5.64 and my T4 13.4 I have to wait 3 months before getting tested again. I have alot of symptoms but never associated it to be thyroid related. Not really sure what to think now.

TSH can be elevated due to non-thyroidal illness so if this is the first abnormal TSH you've had it is protocol to retest after 2-3 months when any virus or infection will be expected to have cleared.

Arrange your next blood test early in the morning when TSH is highest and fast (water only) as TSH drops after eating and drinking.

I would insist on having thyroid anti-bodies tested - TPO & Tg - to rule out Hashimotos. Crohns and Hashimotos are both auto -immune.

I was diagnosed with Crohns over 40 years ago and Hashimotos 12'years ago. Am certain Hashi's should have been diagnosed earlier - 😴

Would that have already been done? I had alot of tests on blood but when you look at it it reads Greek.
