“Selenium not providing lasting results..”

Lots of research out there to support the benefits of selenium in thyroid health - but as I found quite quickly it is only a part of the overall picture.

Selenium is demonstrated to reduce antibodies by significant amount and this seems good news. It does not seem to make much impact on conversion or TSH reduction.

Research noted here and another I recently read from Helsinki in 2015 shows significant falls in TSH just from magnesium supplements.

I can post Helsinki research is of interest ....

That document goes straight to fluoride (actually, they say fluorinated rather than the more usual fluoridated) and bromine dough conditioners. And says that we are consuming more chlorinated water.

I have never lived in a place with fluoridated water supply.

I have never lived in a place which uses bromine dough conditioners. (They are illegal in the EU.)

And is there any evidence that we are consuming more chlorinated water? Or water that is more heavily chlorinated.

Yet thyroid issues seem to have increased in areas with and without fluoridated water supplies. In places which do, or do not, use bromine dough conditioners. And even where chlorination has been augmented/replaced by UV purification. I say seem, because I am not aware of any properly conducted research that would back either my scepticism, or provided convincing evidence the other way.
