Did you read the link posted for you in the above link - the one about the BTA ?
No but I will thank you very much
Wildgeese,
Was your T3 originally recommended by an endo? Why did your GP withdraw your prescription?
Yes it was GP said only private endo recommend it we don't perscribe anymore an to have bloods tested again new year
Thank you 😊
Wildgeese,
If you're saying a private endo recommended T3 originally your GP should have referred you to NHS endocrinologist for confirmation of clinical need if GP was not willing to continue prescribing on the say so of the private endo.
You could write to your GP (cc your MP) and tell your GP that you believe your GP is in breach of the GMS contract by with-drawing treatment you have been told you need and did well on, and that you have felt unwell since it was withdrawn and would like it reinstated. Attach the BTA guidance for patients and GPs.
The BTA issued guidance that patients doing well on T3 should not have their prescriptions with-drawn. See FAQS for patients and GPs in british-thyroid-association...
CCGs do not have the authority to tell GPs what not to prescribe. Individual GPs, not CCGs, could be found in breach of the General Medical Services contract if they do not prescribe treatment patients have been told "they need".
bmj.com/content/358/bmj.j36...
The GPC has warned that GPs would be in breach of the GMS contract and could get into legal trouble by following the orders and refusing to prescribe patients treatments they have told them they need.

CCGs are expected to do impact consultations with the public and stakeholders before implementing change. Failure to do so leaves them open to legal challenge so check whether your CCG did an impact consultation before advising your GP to withdraw T3.

Thank you so much I didn't know any of this . Thanks again I will update but will be after Christmas as I won't get app until new year
Have you had vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested since T3 was stopped
If not make urgent appointment and INSIST they are tested
It's extremely likely they have crashed right out. This has happened for everyone else on here who had T3 stopped
Low vitamin levels stop Thyroid hormones working
You will need to improve low vitamin levels BEFORE restarting T3
If you have Hashimoto's you may also need to be strictly gluten free

Thyroid UK are collecting evidence of malpractice due to removing clinically needed T3
Please consider sending a brief outline of this. How T3 improved you and the subsequent disaster since it was stopped. I would include the dire vitamin levels (assuming you have them) once you get test results back

Come back with new post when you get vitamin results
I havnt had any blood tests I am taking b vit plus iron magnesium etc but I feel like I'm drunk / hungover all the time
Insist on testing
Highly likely to have crashed right down, even with supplements
If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results
