I've just been scouring old posts to try to find this answer without bothering you all but all I got is confused. I already take sublingual B12 but have never addressed the other important B's. Have been reading Paul Robinsons book and realise I should have done this years ago lol - so.....any recommendations?
Best B complex: I've just been scouring old posts... - Thyroid UK
Best B complex
Since you are taking a high dose of B12, Thorne Research Stress B-Complex is a good option. It has 100 mcg of B12 but also has good amounts of the other Bs with high B5 which is highly needed/beneficial for the adrenals.
I like Thorne Basic B, it has a very sensible 10mg B6. Too much B6 long term isn't good.
I don't like the B Complex 100, B complex 50, etc.
I get high ferritin so not sure about the added folate - most seem to have it
Folate is a B vitamin (B9) so not sure why you would be concerned about high ferritin and folate.
B12 and folate work together and high folate is not a problem if B12 is high. I believe we shouldn't supplement more than 800mcg methylfolate per day. Most good B Complex contain 400mcg.
When you posted your Medichecks results a few months ago, your folate level was 11.09 ug/L (3.89 - 26.80) which is on the low side. Folate should be at least half way through it's range so with that range it should be 15.5 plus. As your B12 was a very good 810, there's no need to worry about a high folate level. And if you haven't been supplementing a B Complex all this time, your folate will still be on the lower side of what's recommended.
