High ferritin means high iron?

I get consistent results of high ferritin (probably due to inflammation - nothing else found) but I also have hair loss. Can you have high ferritin but low utilised iron? My vit D and B12 are always high from good supplements. I cant handle vit C in any form so far. Could anything else be amiss? Help would be appreciated before I shave my head to give the drains a break

Yes. High ferritin and low serum iron is a classic presentation for Anaemia of Chronic Disease.
