I am new. I take WPThyroid. I was just tested after a month on WP Thyroid 1/2 grain( I was on 75 mg Tiroinsit and 5 mg generic Cytomel/became allergic to generic Cytomel). I am feeling better. I am am trying to heal the gut! I was able to eat more foods, but have been having allergic reactions to healthy foods😬. I take D3-5000 IUs, magnesium, vitamin C, DIM( regulates hormones-recommended by naturopath) daily. About every 2-3 days I take a combo of calcium, magnesium and zinc. I eat according to Trim Healthy Mama plan. It has helped. I do sugar free (monk fruit), gluten free and a little dairy. On plan we eat every 3-4 hrs a snack or meal based on protein, good carbs , veggies and healthy desserts.

Please advise a good selenium to take and how much?

Please comment on my blood work. My antibodies were tested earlier in the summer and were fine.

TSH 2. Range .450-4.500

Thyroxine. 6.9 4.5-12.0

T3 uptake 24 24-39

Free Thyroxine 1.7 1.2-4.9

Thanks!

Welcome to our forum,

Your TSH is on the high side the aim is 1 or lower and some of us need it suppressed.

Your dose of NDT is very small to make any improvements at present and you should increase 1/4 tablet about every week or two until you are symptom free and feel well.

You should also have taken your pulse and temp several times a day before you began but if you didn't do can begin now. Sometimes when we change thyroid hormones we might feel quite hot but our temp and pulse remain normal. If either were too high, you'd reduce to the previous dose.

I am not sure what you mean that in the summer your antibodies were fine. Does that mean you have antibodies but were lowish? If you have any antibodies you should go gluten-free and it would mean you have an Autoimmune Thyroid Disease also called Hashimotos and the antibodies wax and wane attacking your gland until you were hypo.

Blood tests should always be at the very earliest, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between your last dose of hormones and the test and take afterwards.

Always get a print-out of your results with the ranges for your own records.

If you have not had B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate tested ask for these next time you have a test.

I am not medically qualified and have hypothyroidism.

Thank you! I tested later in the morning/ new doctor. My antibodies were at target. I am gluten free. Everything else was tested and was good.

I will check pulse and temperature. I am in the U. S. I thought that I needed a prescription to up my meds. I am not sure of this new doc.

You say everything else was tested and were good. They may be 'in range' but are they at an optimum?

If you would like to post your other results with the ranges on a new post, members will respond.
