I've just had an appointment with an amazing Endo. Dr S. Z. based at the Spire Hospital near Gatwick was honestly fantastic. I took my latest blood results and other test results, sex hormones and saliva cortisol for him to look at.
We spent a while chatting about history and symptoms. Doc had a look at my results and fed back his thoughts. I felt they were spot on and the relief I felt was immense. Starting a new course of action next week that hopefully works but it was wonderful to talk to a doc that really understands and listens.
I'm self funding the visit, but I felt he was worth it. He's not opposed to NDT or T3 but can't prescribe it however he is writing to my GP to ask him to monitor T4 and T3 as well as TSH (which my GP refused to do previously). So I'll save on private blood tests alone!
I found Dr Z as he was recommended previously on this fantastic site - so, thank you.
Enough gushing!!

I agree Dr Z. is fantastic and I found him on this site too but when you say that he can't prescribe T3 or NDT, do you mean via the NHS or privately? I ask because he's prescribing Nature-Throid for me privately (although I'm not keen on it, it doesn't seem to be as effective as any of the other NDTs I've taken in the past) and the same for another person I know. I just wonder why he said he couldn't prescribe for you.
Oh thats interesting. I had already sourced naturethroid so that's why I presumed he didn't prescribe. Good to know, does that mean you can source from a pharmacist in this country?
Yes I can buy it direct from Alium Medical, I post the prescription to them, they phone for card payment when they receive it and the N-T arrives the following day. It's usually very efficient and the cost is competitive. I just don't like N-T though, I'm having to increase the dose to get back to where I was on Thyroid-S.
Well I must admit I have just ordered some more Thyroid-S but I've never been keen on the idea of all the fillers. The best NDT I ever took was ERFA until I got a really awful batch. I was so thankful earlier this year that I'd found a doctor who actually agreed with the one who diagnosed me years ago - Dr S - that I accepted the prescription for N-T with great joy at the time!
I've edited your posts to redact Dr.Z's name in line with posting guidelines:

Can you please direct message me his contact details please ? I've been on 125mg of Levothyroxin. For 26 years now & never felt Any different !
Fatigue , hard to lose weight , brain cognitive slow & I barely go out outside my work - have to rest at w/e etc - GP SAYS I HAVE M.E - but it started when I was diagnosed with low thyroid so I think I'm just not treated properly ? My bloods T4 - 13
