I am assuming these results are before you began supplements?

how long ago did you start treatment.

did you have signs of macrocytic (larger rounder red blood cells) or microcytic (small red blood cells) anaemia? Anaemia takes around 3 months to improve.

recovering from a B12 deficiency can take a while.

It would seem that an increase in vitamin(s) dosage is in order.

Since your vitamin D3 is severely low and you're only taking 800 iu of Vit. D3 - you're probably not going to notice a difference that's a very small dose . I tested low for vitamin D3 and my functional doctor recommended 5000 iu of Vit. D3. I know it sounds like a lot and it was scary for me but I did some research . I found out that 2000 iu is considered a maintenance dose these days even for people that don't have Hashimoto's or thyroid disorders. (See Vitimin D Council online). Here in the states the USDA recently doubled the daily recommended dose of vitamin D for children . (Which is still a joke at 100 iu) The point is that science is finding more and more evidence that the human body requires more vitamin D than we ever knew.

When I forget to take the 5000 iu A vitamin D I feel it for days . It takes a couple days for me to get the energy back so much energy whenever I take 5000 a day . If you want to increase slowly that might be a good idea . Like from 800 to 2000 for a week or so and see how you feel.

Likewise with the folic acid. I think the measurements might be different from what I'm taking . You say you're taking 5 mg of folic acid - I take 400 mcg per day. Not sure - but it seems that 5 MG might be more that 400 mcg. Anyway most of us are on gluten-free diets and grain is a natural source of folic acid. So we do need to supplement to feel better. If you have not removed wheat and dairy from your diet it's a good idea to take a six week experiment . Dr. Isabelle Wentz, in her research, found that 85% of thyroid patients and particularly Hashimoto's patient felt better removing gluten from their diet . I can tell you I'm a part of the 85% . 85% is and Unbelievably high percentage - and it holds true . Another doctor says it's mostly wheat gluten that we are sensitive to .

That's one piece of the puzzle especially the vitamin D .

Not sure why you're not responding to the injections of B 12 . I've heard something about pernicious anemia . It might be worth looking into . I have read much about those who take the sublingual B12 for this problem .

Dr. Isabelle Wentz talks about how each of us have layers different layers to our disease - and how we have to keep digging . It can seem like the digging goes on and on . Still we have no alternative at the moment . Mainstream Medical doctors do not know what's wrong with us and if they do they're unable somehow to help us. Hang in there and do you try the increase in vitamin D3. Please keep checking in with your progress . When we share what works we help others . 😀

Bang on with the Vitamin D advice, 800 iu isn't nearly enough. I have been taking 4000 per day and am still not up to where I should be. I'm going to be increasing to 5000. Studies have found no adverse effects with doses as high as 10,000 iu and the medical community is looking to have the minimum daily requirement increased soon.

Not what you're looking for?
