Im thinking of trying ndt as I would like to feel better than I do.

Another Doctor (can't get the same one twice at the moment), who is interested in mental health, thinks that I should try antidepressants, and that the body won't recognise the ndt as any better for me. Chemicals is chemicals so to speak, I dissagree, my dad was type 1 diabetic and when he changed from porcin insulin to man made he continualy had hypos from there on in.

Where would I get the ndt or do I have to find a doctor for a prescription.

Hi Atala, chemicals is definitely NOT chemicals and your doctor doesn't know what he is talking about. Anti-depressants are a lot cheaper than NDT on the NHS so that might be a factor. That is like saying I can take an aspirin for anything, constipation, for example as it's a chemical. Are you on any thyroid medication? And what are your most recent blood results? Could you post them with the ranges in brackets as well? And how do you feel?

I am on 125mcg of levo.

Is it possible to look at my previous post as in had results from a private test I had done.

I would say I am and have been struggeling with low mood or inder medication ever since I was put on levo.

Hi Atala, I looked at your previous post and as Clutter said, your FT4 and FT3 could be higher, which means you need more thyroid hormones. Are you taking B12 supplements, because your folate is very high and your B12 is not optimal? It needs to be around 1,000. Your body needs b12 to use folic acid.

I have sent you a PM about where to get NDT on the Internet. Thyroid UK provide a list of doctors, some of whom prescribe NDT. My body certainly recognises the difference between Levothyroxine, anti-depressants and NDT. I am off the first two, am taking NDT and feel loads better.

It's a private message. If you click on the 'v' next to your name at the top of the page you will see an envelope for messages, sent and received. If you see an orange circle with a number in it next to your name, that indicates messages you have and how many.

I never found that pm. Could you send it again please. I have been changing my diet, no gluten or dairy in the hope to get better. I wouldnt tell the doctors this, but my mind seems clearer.
