Morning folks...went to have my blood test...

And the only things being tested are:

Lft

Folate

b12

Ft4 & tsh

Fbc

Glucose

Not sure how that equates to the full thyroid panel i asked for. 😲

I'm so angry... i just don't know what to do now.

Can anyone help?

So sorry you're not getting the tests you've asked for. After nearly 9 years of having thyroid problems I have to say each time to the nurse free T3 needs to be tested as well - it not an option on the forms that they complete and is a free hand entry Some people in the medical profession feel TSH and T4 is sufficient to make a diagnosis.

I figure i'm going to have to go the private blood test route...

We have recommended labs who will do whatever your require. I will give you a link and many members have been happy with the results. Most are home tests.

Remember to take it at the earliest and allow 24 hours gap between last dose and the test and take afterwards.

Also make sure you are well hydrated for a couple of days before as it makes it easier to draw blood.

As far as I understand it, doctors have been advised that only TSH and T4 are required. That's the reason so many patients feel very unwell as, maybe, they aren't on a sufficient dose of hormones to provide enough T3. That seems to be a mystery and the medical profession informs the patient you are 'normal' meaning that the result on a piece of paper gives them more information than the patient who is crippled with symptoms which are ignored or prescribed 'something' for the symptm rather than a proper dose of thyroid hormones to relieve all symptoms.

Some labs, too, if TSH is within normal range don't do others if they've been requested.

The perverse thing is I have found with nhs testing that T3 is only tested when tsh or T4 are out of whack with the labs precious ranges. You are not alone in feeling angry but it will only increase your stress and for we thyroidies that's not good. Better to take control than lose your rag. I write having done both and not in that order either. Good luck
