What next, tests done but how do I interpret.

Still quite new here.......thank you for all the posts and responses to my first posts, it really helped to gear me up to get some test done. I've now had a full range of test done (but not T3)......here are most of them with ranges where I could get them. The GP just wanted to chat about my CHL levels on the phone, I have yet to go back for an appointment. I have added Vit B12, a1,500mcg and MK7, and Vit D 5000iu as well as a Floredix tablet. I also take some magnesium at the end of the day. I have noticed a lift in energy levels and less tiredness. What next? I don't know how to interpret the TPO result or the tTG Tissu transglutaminase result, as they both seem less than optimal. I've got this far, but get a bit brain fogged still when looking at anything with detail.

TSH 3.41 means your thyroid gland is struggling to produce T4 hormone evidenced by FT4 being low in range. NHS won't usually make a diagnosis until TSH is >4.4 or FT4 <9.0.

TPO 5 <6.0 means thyroid peroxidase antibodies are negative for autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's).

tTG 1.3 (0.0-10.0) means you are negative for coeliac disease (gluten-intolerance).

VitD is optimal around 100nmol/L. I would reduce dose to 5,000iu alternate days after a couple of months and retest late May.

I'm assuming CHL is cholesterol. Cholesterol is often high when thyroid levels are low. If your GP were to trial you on Levothyroxine your cholesterol level would almost certainly drop. I think a trial is probably unlikely, however.

It might be an idea to get private test to check both antibodies. More common to have high TPO or high TPO AND high TG, but negative TPO and raised TG is possible, though rarer. We have a few members on here with low TPO & high TG, they often have struggled to get diagnosed.

Usual advice on ALL thyroid tests, is to do early in morning, ideally before 9am. No food or drink beforehand (other than water) This way your tests are always consistent, and it will show highest TSH, and as this is mainly all the medics decide dose on, best idea is to keep result as high as possible
