I have just got my results back, T4 and t3 now well in range. Symptom wise I have greatly improved but still not feeling brilliant , should I ask for more levothyroxine to get myself nearer the top of the range? My TSH is always low as I am hypopituitary.

Ratkinson,

There is scope to increase dose to raise FT4 and FT3 to see whether symptoms improve.

Have ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate been tested?

Yes , ferritin up to 43 from 7 and the other 3 comfortable in normal range.

Should I suggest moving dose up to 125 ( I'm on 100at the moment) or do you think I should ask for that on alternate days?

Thanks

Ratkinson,

Ask for 125mcg. If it feels too much you can reduce to 100/125mcg alternate days yourself.

Ferritin is optimal halfway through range so you may want to continue supplementing iron.

Yes definitely your FT3 is a bit low. The range is odd - if you were at the bottom of that range, ie 0, you would be dead! How can they possibly let that through?

Anyway, I am sure you will feel better with a dose increase

You know I hadn't even noticed that, I'll try and find out what previous ones say!

Thanks
