Soy lecithin

I've recently started taking vitamin c liquid as aside of it being good for general health I understand it aids the absorption of T4 and T3 - it contains soy lecithin. Is there a difference between soy (which I have been told to avoid as I have hashimotos) and soy lecithin?

Do you mean liposomal C? You can buy sunflower lecithin and apparently you can make your own liposomal C if you have the equipment (see YouTube videos). Not sure if you can buy a soy free version.

Hi Jefftall, have you thought about taking Vit C in a different form? I take Nutribiotic's buffered sodium ascorbate powder. It is not bitter or acidic and easily absorbed. Sodium ascorbate is made by dissolving pharmaceutical grade ascorbic acid with sodium bicarbonate, derived from sea water and therefore different from common salt. It's a lot cheaper too.

Oh dear I keep forgetting this about soya! Theres so much to think about - what do do and what not to do with a thyroid disease - and I'm badly affected with brain fog and do forget things more than most. Vicious circle!!
