First of all thanks for all the help I get on here, and I have some new blood results too, they are,
Tsh .009 (.27-4.2)
Free thyroxine 28.45 (12-22)
Total thyroxine 141.7 (59-154)
Free t3 6.11 (3.1-6.8)
Reverse t3 46 (10-24)
Reverse t3 ratio 8.65 (15.01-75)
I am on 175 levothyroxine 10 liothyronine.
So could I get some advice please, I feel mentally awful, but when I first added the t3 for 6 weeks I fealt cured of my schitzophrenia. Thanks again. Michael.

You're taking far too much levo. And, as you can't convert it to FT3, you're converting it to rT3. The rT3 will block the T3 receptors so that the FT3 can't get into the cells. So, that's what makes you feel awful.
What you need to do in the immediate future, is cut down on that T4 (levo) You don't need any more T3 at the moment, because your FT3 is high. But, if I were you, I would cut out the levo completely for a few days, and then resume on a lower dose. Leave the T3 as it is.
Ok. Understood. Thankyou..... do you think that I may have a reverse t3 problem once I reduce the levothyroxine and should try taking t3 only when I can?
Hi - did you also have the B12 tested ? - along with VitD - Folate - Ferritin. If these are not optimal then you will feel terrible and it will contribute to your mental status too. These levels need to be good for the T4 to convert into T3.
Hi Marz, yes I did and they are low along with ferritin, on the private test, and on the nhs my gp made me do, I am not low on B, so I have sourced some privately just in case but she did give me some vitamin D tablets.
What did she give you, though, because if they are cheap NHS ones they are probably rubbish, you also need to take K2 mk7 with it to get it to the right place.
zebady - not sure what you are saying yes to 😊 - is it the anti-bodies ? What were the results of your B12 - Ferritin - Folate - VitD ? How much D3 are you taking ?
I had the same problem with high numbers. I stopped my T4 completely almost two weeks ago. I was initially on .137mcg T4 and 5 mcg x2 daily T3. Endo cut dose to .125 mcg T4 and then again to .112 mcg but left my T3 dose alone. My RT3 was over 60 and FT4 was over range and FT3 was at the bottom. I am currently taking the T3 only and have increased it to 7.5 mcg twice daily. I will have private labs done in another 3 weeks to see where I am. So far am feeling much better than I was. Still some to go, however.
