T4 only and anxiety?

T4 only and anxiety?

And a nice pic....

I have been on T4 only since April. My range is looking healthy on the lab tests but my emotional state does not feel any where near as calm, nor lucid as when I was on desiccated thyroid. Wondered if anyone had any thoughts or experience? x

(Now I have finally climbed back to a better lab level tempted to add in a little t3 in a month or so. One of the reasons I swapped to t4 from desiccated was that I was suffering a lot of crashes and finding it difficult to keep dose up resulting (or even coinciding with) levels unsuspectingly going down...vicious cycle.)

  • Helbell,

    Lovely picture :)

FT3 5.25 is just shy of the top third of range so you are converting well. There is scope to add a little T3 to increase FT3 to see whether your emotional state improves.

B12 is fine high but there's no point in peeing out expensive supplements so you can reduce dose.

Folate, haemoglobin and MCV look fine.

  • A but of wriggle room sounds good. Thanks Clutter. I have 25 tabs of T3 so might try 6 mcgs as a convenient size with my current 100 mcgs t4. I need to work out the human ratio. 😀

  • Lovely pic helbel !

Just got a rescue cat but his tummy is out of bounds at the moment l

    Hope you get sorted Pp

  • Thank you. And good luck with yourur rescue kitty - all ours have been and the deal is they have to put up with lots of attention in return for their keep! There is a little domestic turned feral cat at the quarry where I work. Two years on and she strolled right up for a smoothe the other day.

  • Harry has just been for a manicure lol

Hopefully save our hands and sofa . He won't deign to use his scratcher .

    Early days I guess , he's lovely . 🐱Pp

  • He will change habits during adjustment :) mine is Fuzz btw, and thoroughly spoiled.

  • Looks very like Fuzz , black and white .

I guess we should mention thyroid in case we get wrong for being flippant.

Really calms you down stroking a cat 😊
