Had a benign goiter back in 97/98. Was big enough to see. Wondering if that was the beginning of my hypothyroidism. Trying to figure this stuff out on my own. I found one dr to prescribe Naturethroid and I take 37.5 mg morning and 37.5 in afternoon , for last 2 weeks. Havent noticed much of a difference yet. Take adrenal cortex (Adren-all) and licorice root for AF. Changed my diet to no sugar or white flour/rice. Still feel exhausted , depressed....feel like it would be easier to just not be here, but I have a 13 yr old I cant leave. Started taking Hydrocortisone cream 1% because Im desperate. Not sure if thats smart, but have had AF for years now.

Beckid65,

Thyroid antibodies are negative for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's).

Thyroid results indicate your thyroid is struggling and the NDT should help.

For maximum absorption NDT should be taken with water 1 hour before or 2 hours after food and drink, 2 hours away from other medication and supplements, and 4 hours away from calcium, iron, vitamin D supplements and oestrogen.

It takes 7-10 days for the T4 in NDT to be absorbed before it starts working and it will take up to six weeks to feel the full impact of the dose.

You should have a follow up thyroid test 6-8 weeks after starting NDT to check dose is adequate. Arrange an early morning and fasting (water only) blood draw when TSH is highest, and take Levothyroxine after your blood draw.

Most people will find symptoms resolve after their TSH drops to around 1.0 with FT4 in the upper quadrant and FT3 in or near the top third of range but symptoms can lag a couple of months behind good biochemistry.

I can't comment on your cortisol results. Perhaps you could repost your cortisol results and ask for comments. Please note that AF is an abbreviation for atrial fibrillation not adrenal fatigue.
