Have hypothyrodism and take 30 mg daily of armour. I am very short winded when I climb steps or pull on water hose. I have had heart checked and lungs, which are fine.
My T3 is 79ng/dl. T4 is 1.1ng/dl. Vitamin D,25 is 68 ng/ml. Is this good enough.

sunfish45 Unfortunately no-one can comment as to whether your results are good enough without reference ranges for the tests (usually in brackets alongside the results). These vary from lab to lab and I guess they not UK ranges??
Can you edit your post please and include the ranges.
The vit D is a bit low. But you'll have to put the ranges for the T4 and T3 for anybody to be able to comment.
Is that a Free T3? If it's Total, it's of absolutely no use. Doesn't give you any useful information.
You should also get your vit B12 and folate, and ferritin. If those are low they can cause breathlessness.
T3 is (859), T4 Free (866), TSH (899)
greygoose The vitamin D level is in US units of measurement - 69 ng/mL. In the European units we are more familiar with the level is 170 nmol/L. So it is actually quite high, not a bit low.
I used the converter on this page : grassrootshealth.net/
How is your B12? Your symptoms could be entirely due to low oxygenation of your blood due to poor absorption of B12 which often goes with hypothyroidism, with risks increasing with age. My partner, my mother and I all have this. My symptoms develop when I am well within the usual therapeutic range. Here is an article about B12, with two medical films: candobetter.net/node/4463 Another problem could be low iron.
Hi,I clicked your link on candobetter and a virus warning was given!
The site was hacked over a month ago but has been fixed. You can check it by going to safeweb.norton.com/report/s...
Nortons run a site check service where you can input any site address to find out if it is safe. If you know how, tell your browser or virus checker or whatever gave you the message to review their info. I'm glad you let me know. best -

Brilliant article - thank you
B12 - my low B12 was hidden by extremely low B5, caused by low vitamin D.
All the B's need to work together.
Good link below explaining how low vitamin D changes the gut environment so that vitamin B levels drop. That when you start correcting the low vitamin D, this often reveals low B5

When we have autoimmune disease it's very common to be low in vitamin D - we either need more, use more or can't make enough

What matters is the amount of T3 that is free, and available to be used. FT3 can't be computed from T3 because it is not known how your TBG (thyroid binding globulin) is functioning. Is there a reason why your doctor did not do a FT3?
However, I think it is safe to say you are significantly hypothyroid. When I was hypo, I had a miserable time trying to pump my bike to the top of the hill where I live; I had to gasp, due to air hunger. Now that my FT3 is over range middle, I have no problem with air hunger.
