How else can I support my Thyroid on NDT

I made the switch to NDT (Thiroyd) from Levo + T3 about 3 weeks ago and I am feel much better already. I have purchased the NDT myself after a 10 year battle with my GP and Endo. I am also taking Higher Nature Thyroid Support supplements which provide Iodine and Selenium, plus Tyrosine and nine other vitamins and minerals. Husband says he can see a huge difference in me and that I am starting to loose a little of the excess weight. Those of you who have lost weight successfully with a Thyroid issue - what diet plan would you recommend to support my thyroid and help me to shift the weight? Thanks in advance :)

  • Hi GlitterCat, the main diet that springs to mind is Paleo. It includes lots of good fats such as coconut oil which is fantastic for our Thyroid.

    I'm currently on Paleo, it's not a diet more a lifestyle choice and I will never go back, I feel fantastic - sleep all night and wake full of energy every morning 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

  • Just make sure it's not a low calorie diet because that will negatively impact your conversion.

    Multi vits are actually pretty useless. And iodine does not support the thyroid, it stimulates it. It is not advisable to take iodine when you are on thyroid hormone replacement, because there is iodine in the hormones, and you could easily over dose.
