Blue Horizon private testing

Hi just wondered if anyone has used this company for the Thyroid 6 test and whether it is a finger prick test or whether I'd need to arrange to have bloods taken to send off? Thanks in advance. Also considering the Active B12 so if anyone has any info on that too that would be most appreciated.

Re the B12 Active test - I don't know where you live but St Thomas's Hospital in London have a walk-in service. You enquire at Information Desk, pay £18 (that's what I paid) and they'll take your blood at the phlebotomy Dept.

Others will respond re BH blood tests.

Hi😜

I just did the exact blood test 2 weeks ago myself. You can choose to have blood taken the normal way or the finger prick way.

On the blue horizon website, you will see a list of centres that will draw it for you, in your area, for £35.

Depending on what you choose, depends on what kit they send you.

For the thyroid 6, you need to fill up 2 small vials. It took 6 fingers and about 30 minutes for me to do it. Its fiddly and slightly uncomfortable, but I saved £35!!

I sent off my blood the same day as I received the kit and got the results 2 days later by email from the blue horizon team, who I also think are fantastic.

I hope this helps. Good luck and hope you feel better very soon 😊

That's great thank you! Out of interest do you know what reference ranges they use for TSH and Free T4? Just wondering if they're the same as the ones the GPs lab uses?

0.27- 4.2 for TSH

12 - 22 for free T4

This is in the SE though.

Hi,

Yes, I've used BH for the Thyroid 11 test. They are quick and reliable, and I'll certainly use them again.

Arab. 🙂
