I intend to buy some supplements but I'm afraid to not interact with my daily hormones.
- coenzyme q10, magnesium and resveratrol(or trans-resveratrol I don' t remember), my endo told me that it helps in thyroid disease and for the heart support, I do not know what to do.

You have a very enlightened doc if he is prescribing those supplements for you. Most docs just give you that 'deer in the headlights' blank stare when you ask them about supplements. I don't know that those particular supplements help specifically with thyroid disease but... most of us could use more magnesium in our diets and the resveratrol helps with longevity/immune system and the CO enzyme Q10 is priceless for helping with heart disease.
Do buy the ubiquinol form of Q10. It is pricier but is more bioavailable than the run-of-the-mill Q 10. Most Q10 ubiquinol products come in huge gel caps. Swanson's 100 mg, ubiquinol is a very small gel cap. That is the one my hubby and I take.
One supplement that is protective of the thyroid gland and supposedly helps somewhat with T4 - T3 conversion is selenium. Don't exceed 200 - 400 mcgs per day. If you are uncomfortable taking selenium in supplement form, brazil nuts are the best food source of selenium. How much selenium they contain depends on how fresh they are, size etc. But usually 2 - 3 nuts per day will give you a healthy dose... 100 - 175 mcgs per day, certainly better than no selenium.
Actually I asked her if is worth take some supplements (thanks to this forum, I read about ) and she told me if I want I can take magnesium and resveratrol, etc.. She told me that; it may help but she didn't write me a prescription for them . I took selenium in the past and upset my stomach...
I don't know how it is in the UK but all those supplements can be purchased over-the-counter here in the states. Sounds like you have been doing your research. Good for you. You might try the brazil nuts, a few a day, and see how you do. If you have heart problems and especially if you take heart meds, Co Enzyme Q 10 (ubiquinol) is a must have since most heart meds deplete Co Enzyme Q 10 in the body.
I live in EU but not in UK, I buy my vitamins(B12 and D3) from iHerb, they are very good from my point of view (low prices, discounts, fast shipping, etc). I'm a young adult man, don't have any heart problem yet but I take some T3 and I thought some Q10 may help.
Recently I started having itching problems (on my arms, neck, on my back) due to T3 I think, maybe some Q10 and magnesium it will help. Very nasty sensation this itching and I don't know how do I get rid of it.
I have read where others have had this itching problem. Maybe try another manufacturer's brand of T 3? Try getting off the T 3 for a few days and see if the itching subsides? Some say to use Benadryl to address the itching problem. That seems a little weird to me because if you are allergic to something in the T 3, your body is trying to tell you something and maybe it isn't a good idea to mask that?
You are dealing with a good company for your D 3 and B 12. IHerb is a very reputable vendor of vitamins and supplements. Swansons and Vitacost are two others that are well known in the states but I don't know their overseas shipping policies.
Thank you for your answer. Now I'm on T3 and levo. I don't know if I'm alergic to the fillers or to the T3, I'll try another product. But if I can not fix it the itchy problem I think I'll try again ndt.
Yes I know the Vitacost is good too but I prefer iHerb and about Swansons I think they not shipp in EU (but I'm not sure about it).
adin, it is probably the fillers in the T 3 or maybe even the fillers in the T 4. Some of us are just more reactive and sensitive to some of those fillers than other folks who seem to have no problem. Unfortunately, we have to be our own guinea pigs sometimes.
I think I have seen some Swansons products advertised and offered for sale on Amazon UK but I could be wrong. I have heard others mention buying from IHerb and they are happy campers.
Or, if you can't manage the six hour gap, try adding Epsom salts to your bath, for a twenty minutes soak, or a foot bath. Another solution is to get the magnesium oïl that you spray on your skin.
However, before starting taking magnesium, I would get my vit D tested, because they all work together, and not much point taking magnesium if your vit D is low.
And, while you're at it, get your B12, Folate and ferritin tested, too, because they all need to be optimal for your body to be able to use the hormone you're giving it.
I've never heard of resveratrol being good for the thyroid, but it is good for a lot of other things.
Thank you greygoose for your good advices. I tried to take vit D3 but I had tinnitus after 2 days so I stopped and the ringing in my ears had subsided. I did some researches and I think it would be good to take some magnesium glycinate may help to my tinnitus problem and maybe after then I'll take again D3. My B12 and D3 is vry low 10(30-100) indeed but the ferritin is good. If I understood well, my endo told me that the resveratrol help to the cellular oxidation(antioxidant properties) and therefore help to conversion (something like that). The main problem from a few days is the itching problems and I feel hot due to T3 suppose and I don't know how can I fix it.
Yes, it possibly was low magnesium causing the tinnitus. Be good to see if you can tolerate the D3 after raising your level.
If your B12 is very low - how low? - you possibly need testing for pernicious anemia. In any case, you do need to supplement it if it's low. 1000 is optimal, but anything Under 500 can cause irreversable neurological damage if left.
I know resveratrol is an antioxident and may help with conversion - not the same as helping with thyroid - but it won't help if the other things aren't all optimal.
My endo consider that my B12 is normal-low and don' t need supplementation, the test shows that val. is 285(191-760),
but I already bought B12 methyl form 1000ui and I take it daily. I know D3 is problematic for me, i will see summer is coming anyway and use to lie in the sun(and swim) on days of weekend .
Your doctor is an idiot. Anything Under 500 will cause irrepairable neurological damage. That's how people develope neuropathies, because their doctors know nothing about B12 and consider that anything 'in range' is fine. It isn't.
If I were you, I would take more than 1000 for a B12 that low. At least 5000 daily. You need to get it up as quickly as possible. And Don't forget to take the b complex with it. The Bs need to be balanced.
I tried to take 3000ui B12( 3 x pcs together) and after 2 min. I had palpitations(fast heart rate) don't know why, so I did not have the courage to take 5000ui. Maybe I will try to take them separately. I wonder how long it takes until B12 it reaches the desired level .
