Re-start Eltroxin

I've been on T3 only for a few years and have recently had some dodgy results. I'm fed up of self medicating and intend to go to a private endocrinologist when I get back to the UK.

In the meantime I want to start switching to part thyroxine. Part T3 to see if there's an improvement.

I have Eltroxin here but the expiry date is 2015. Does anyone know if it's ok to take still?

Also what proportion of T4 to T3 should I try. I used to be on 200mcg of Eltrkxin and wasn't converting. I now only take 25mcg of T3.

I read somewhere that Levothyroxine can degrade quite fast. Best to stay in date I would have thought but I'm no expert.

25mcg of T3 is probably not as high a dose as 200mcg of T4. T3 is somewhere between 3 and 6 times a strong as T4, depending on the patient, so equivalent to somewhere between 75 and 150mcg of Eltroxin. Do you have any recent blood test results?
