'Acceptable' is not good enough. You need your FT3 to be optimal FOR YOU. We're all different, but you know when you feel good, and when you feel bad. If you still have symptoms - and weight-gain is a symptom - then you are not optimised. You need an increase in dose.
Same goes for iron, B12, etc. 'In range' is not the same as optimal. Your B12 should be about 1000 to be optimal - anything Under 500 is dangerous. Iron should be mid-range. The ranges are just a guide and shouldn't be seen as the be-all-and-end-all of thyroid treatment. The aim is to illiminate all your symptoms, not just to get the levels 'in range'. Unfortunately, doctors Don't know that.
