If your taking 100mcg of Levo I would put 25mcg of T3 (liothyronine) to it, I can only suggest you look it up online in regards to getting it in turkey.....hope this helps some x

Welcome to the forum, -Jill-.

25mcg T3 is equivalent to 75mcg Levothyroxine so advising a member to increase dose that much is likely to lead to considerable overmedication.

Why are people recommending this advice? I don't get it. Like Clutter says, adding 25 mcg of T3 is a HUGE increase. Best to go slow. She says reduce T4, but I think adding 6.25 mcg to the 100 mcg T4 is stiill a lot safer than adding 25 mcg.

Take your pick.

Adding a little bit to current dose (you'll find out quite quickly with anxiety and heart BoomBooms if it's too high) then lower T4 a bit. But adding 25 mcg on top of 100 mcg T4? Probably not a good idea.

Oh my word Karenmyring I do apologise it was meant to read 5mcg as that's what I was taking before I switched to NDT, having said that it would appear I could of done with taking a little bit more, but I am doing much much better on the NDT, good luck 😊 Xx

Karenmyring, it will help members advise on dose if you can post recent thyroid blood results. If you are optimally dosed on Levothyroxine (T4) it should be reduced by 25mcg before adding in 6.25mcg, a quarter of a 25mcg T3 tablet, to avoid overmedicating and see how you tolerate the T3 before taking a higher dose.

Tiromel T3 is available over the counter in Turkey but order at the beginning of your holiday as they may only hold limited stock and may need to order in.

Karen, post your full results in a new question next week as it will be easier to advise. Low T4 to T3 conversion is indicated when TSH is low, FT4 high and FT3 low. The addition of T3 is usually helpful then.
