Hi can anyone email an address where I can buy T3. I am so desperate I am feeling so poorly, and recently been reading about how T3 can help.

Taz.

Taz12 Have you been diagnosed with hypothyroidism? If yes, for how long and how much Levo are you taking?

Have you had thyroid antibodies checked to see if you have autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's?

Have you had vitamins and minerals checked -

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

All the above need to be at optimal levels (not just in range) for thyroid hormone to work, that is our own or replacement hormone.

There is nothing in your profile, so some information would be helpful in order for members to comment.

T3 can help when there is poor conversion of T4 to T3. If you post your latest results, including FT4 and FT3 done at the same time, members can comment and advise how much T3 to take and whether Levo needs reducing.

Sorry I am new to this today. Yes I have been taking Levo for 6 years now, dose 100mg daily yes I have hashimoto's I also have vit B12 deficiency and low folate which I have now been put on folic acid for last 3 months.

I also suffer from ME, so I feel like I am dying at times. Just had my bloods checked this week waiting on results. Also get very hot sweats from side affect of levo. I have asked and asked my GP about T3 but he just passes it off.

I felt a lot better when it was over active rather than under.

I spend a lot of my time in bed plus my hair is very dry and falling out. I just don't know what to do any. More but I'm having no quality of life and I am only 44.

Please can you HELP ME!

Thank you for getting back to me.

Sorry to hear you're so unwell Taz12.

Just a thought. When do you take your Levo? Don't forget it's measured in micrograms / mcg rather than mg :-)

Your levo needs to be taken with a good gap away from food, drink and any other supplements you may be taking, particularly iron which needs a 4 hour gap. These things can interfere with the absorption of your Levo dose.

I take Levo in the morning first thing with a whole glass of water. Then take folic acid about 3 hours later. I don't eat breakfast, in fact I don't eat much at all. But I ve put on 3 stone in 2 years and I want to get rid of it.

Hi - it sounds like you are under-medicated and with nutritional deficiencies, but without actual figures any advice would only be based on guesswork. As has already been asked, you need to get copies of your latest blood results and post them. With that information, we should be able to give advice that will help you feel better.

I should have said, taking t3 when you do not have optimal nutrients could actually make your situation worse as it is quite a hard taskmaster.

I meant to ad this as a reply to your repeated post. I was thinking we need to see actual results to see where you are. Two reasons to see if you are in enough medication and also to see if you are. Inverting properly. You need to look at that before you even think about T3. Mineral and vitamin deficiency can hinder conversion and you can only see if this is a problem whilst you are on Levo. As soon as you ad T3 the readings are read differently and tour FT4 level can drop. The only reliable reading then is FT3. Do you need to address any conversion problems before even thinking of adding T3 and yes it will take time to reverse it. It took nearly 6 months to address mine by increasing some supplements and adding in more then I changed to NDT but I feel I am more stable because I addressed the underlying cause and not just put a sticking plaster over it.

I should say I did start to feel better during the 6 months

As well as the things others have mentioned, Can you post your TSH, t4, T3 results, so can people can advise if T3 is needed? (It can be dangerous to take it if it's not.) if your gp won't test T3, you need to get it done privately with medichecks or "blue horizon".

Not what you're looking for?
