Does anyone else burp a lot with Thyroid-S? I have just started NDT. I'm self medicating and this seem to be a side effect I'm experiencing. That and I'm still a bit tired. On the plus side, I feel warmer and my Plantar Fasciitis has gone.

Burping on Thyroid-S?
mvdmeer, I've not heard that and hopefully it will subside in a few days.
You may find this link about increasing dose (posted by Joesmum) helpful thyrophoenix.com/adjusting_...
I find that w most new things my digestion struggles to start with. Might be you're low on acids? Really happy to hear your foot pain has gone!! I've had it for 2 years but GP says my levels are "ok"... (TSH 2.7, etc). It would be so great not to have any pain!
That's why I've resorted to self-medicating. I'm not prepared to put up with the pain associated with been hypo any more. I'm going to be working full time from mid November and desperately want to be 'right' by then.
I had plantar and mine went away when I was prescribed vit d, after I read that it's a known sign of deficiency of vit d. If you can get your Dr to test for it to check? Other aches and pains are also much worse with a deficiency, mine was 12. The foot pain was oneof the symptoms that went pretty quick after supplementation.
Hope it helps
Take it on waking, and allow to dissolve under the tongue, don't eat or consume caffeine or milk for an hour. If you can have another four hour break before a second dose(plus another hour after) then divide in two. And build up gradually to allow your body to acclimatise - mid November is far too soon to expect to be at full therapeutic dose, unfortunately.
I have taken Thyroid S for years with no problems, and no burping.
I read that Thyroid-s was coated so that it would only release in the gut. That's is why I have been swallowing mine. I have been taking my first on waking and my second half an hour before lunch. I was on 150 mcg of Levo, I'm only taking x1 thyroid-S in the morning and and a half in the afternoon. I have been building up for a month at the moment.
I chew mine, but otherwise do much the same as Ruthi. You should get more/quicker benefit doing either what she does or what I do.
It's early days yet for you in NDT-land. And you're probably not on your maximum dose yet. I have to say that I have never regained all the stamina I had before this cursed disease got ahold of me. I find ways round things. And I make sure that I hang on to all the things I really want to do. So the dust bunnies round here are Harvey-sized ...
I do feel so much better. I'm still not sure if it the NDT or the Nutri Adrenal Extra that's improving things. Those dreaded bunnies live at mine too! Lol!
Half an hour before lunch is too late - you need an hour's gap. And four hours after the last meal. My lunch is too early (or breakfast too late) which is why I have given up on splitting my dose. That and the brain fog that makes me forget things.
Mine says to take half an hour before your meal. That the only problem with me is that I work night shift some nights so I'm not sure when is my breakfast is! On the 17th of November I'm changing to day shift only. I'm sure that will be better for me. I'm sure my cortisol levels are all over the place.
When I started I was told to take it with food, then it was just before food. Believe me, its an hour!
