Thy123, How much Levothyroxine were you taking previously and how long have you been taking 2 grains?
Being hot and sweating can be a sign of overmedication which can also cause fatigue.

Hi clutter
Thanks for replying
I'm on 150 mgs of levo
I get tested every 3 months and I'm up and down between 150 and 125 for the past 6 yrs
Thy123, you have to wonder why your doctor didn't suggest 125/150mcg alternate days
2 grains is roughly equivalent to 150mcg. 18mcg T3 in 2 grains may have pushed your FT3 a bit high for comfort but 3 weeks is too soon to test. You could try reducing to 1.5 or 1.75 grains and see whether the symptoms improve.
Hi thy123.
Have been taking Thyroid-s for about 4 months and feeling much better even though I'm only taking one grain (60mg). Am wondering if you should drop a grain to see how you feel as being hot might indicate overmedication.
I have found that I could only increase by 1/2grain at a time. Sometimes as long as 3 months before I could up it by another half grain. However once vit d b12 ferritin and folate levels were improved I could tolerate a dose raise more easily. It's taken me a year but I am now on 3 grains. Be patient and get your vitamins to a good level to help your conversion. Good luck.
Thanks ib003
I am currently on vit d3 tablets prescribed by doc
But I often forget to take them ,maybe that's where the problem lies
You might not be able to use thyroid S at all.... I cannot use it, or erfa. It's to do with the fillers and manufacturing process, there is an extra step for your body to do to break it down. I know of others who also struggle.
Might be worth you trying a different brand? Thiroyd is an un coated med. I do fine with it.

The hot and breaking out in a sweat can be a myriad of things. Over medicated, under medicated, poor adrenal function, too high blood sugar, too low sugar... :-(. Rubbish eh?
Thanks for your comments g
It's certainly worth thinking about changing to another brand
This is taken from the thyroid S website......
Filler Differences: Thyroid-S uses a filler which binds the active hormones more strongly than Thiroyd. We know this because we used a lab to measure the concentrations of hormones in both types of tablets. The results showed that Thyroid-S needed an extra step of solvent extraction to release all the hormones for correct measurement. We believe this will result in more stable tablet storage and a slower release of hormones after swallowing. Thiroyd dissolves easily and well, Thyroid-S is chaukier and is more difficult to dissolve. Click HERE to see our post detailing the extra step needed to release the active ingredients of Thyroid-S (fascinating stuff).
Tablet Color: Thyroid-S tablet is a light brown color and shiny, Thiryod tablet is white and matte finish. Both tablets are white or off-white inside.
Tablet Coating: Thyroid-S is a coated tablet, and Thiroyd is uncoated.
Tablet Anti-Counterfeiting: The coating on Thyroid-S tablets is thin and distinctive and not easily duplicated by counterfeiters. Thiryod tablets are white and with no distinctive features and are more easily counterfeited.
