It's back again...tsh was 0.67

My hair improved dramatically on vit D supplements. I was taking 20000 once a week. I'm really confused as I can't understand why the hairloss has started again. Vit D is 76 now.

vgam, iron could be low. That makes people lose their hair too. Damn, everything makes us lose out hair! And then other things make us lose out minds. LOL!

Hi gabkad

Iron levels should be ok now as I have been taking supplements for over a year.

Have also been taking biotin

Sometimes when we go through huge stress the T3 from the pills doesn't satisfy the body's need. Life circumstances can affect our requirements. It's like when I was cut off disability and had no significant income, my hair fell out 3 months later. Emotional shock or sudden huge stressors will have an effect. It takes time for the hair follicles to give up the ghost and it's usually 2 or 3 months later. Like giving birth: hair is lush during pregnancy and falls out a couple of months later because of all the stress of giving birth and not getting any sleep due to endlessly hungry baby.

So maybe think back to what happened 2 to 3 months ago.

Since a very traumatic event I have lost a lot of hair. My D is also exactly 76 last check but ferretin is low so you should have iron and ferretin checked and not assume its okay because you are supplementing. Also low zinc and high copper can also cause this. Stress can cause copper to accumulate in the body and for the body to lose zinc. Biotin is also good to add in!!

suzanna, my ferritin WAS low (26, 34) when my hair came out. But this year, it's not low, nothing's low except the low dose of thyroxine and T3 the endo-nazi prescribed. How can you trust someone who fools around with our meds so our hair falls out?

Terrible! This disease is the pits. Have you tried biotin?

interesting ,Vit D? - always thought ferritin & Biotin should be investigated for hairloss (with low thyroid)
