Welcome to the forum, Minus.

Your TSH is above range so your GP ought to start Levothyroxine therapy. If not, and you have hypothyroid symptoms, you may want to see another GP at your practice.

FT4 and FT3 are ideally in the top 75% of range ie your FT4 >19.5 and FT3 >5.87. Good levels of ferritin, vitaminD, B12 and folate are required for thyroxine absorption and conversion of FT4 to FT3.

The T3 isn't that low. It's above mid-range - mid-range being 4.45. The T4 on the other hand is below mid-range - mid-range being 17. I agree they could both be higher but I'm surprised the TSH is as high as it is with these levels.

why are you surprised my TSH is as high against teh T3 and T4 levels? what do you think that means greygoose? I appreciate your advice

When the TSH is raised/high it indicates that the thyroid is struggling. Hence as your FT4 and FT3 levels are not desperately poor - it seems to indicate the thyroid is producing reasonably good levels of T4 which is also converting quite well into the Active hormone T3. I think that is what greygoose meant :-)

It's just that most people's TSH comes right down way before their T3 gets that high. It's possible that it doesn't mean anything at all, but mention it to your doctor, anyway. You certainly could use an increase in meds.

Hugs, Grey
