I have used Natural sources Raw Thyroid for the last half year. My freeT3 was a bit under normal level, TSH in the upper end of normal range and I suffered most of the classic symptoms of low thyroid function. My endo concluded, that I didn't have a thyroid problem, so my GP didn't dare to give me treatment. He said he would be crucified if anything happened to me! So I asked him if he would support me in taking matters in my own hands and order Raw Thyroid. He agreed to that and from the first day of taking Raw Thyroid I have felt an immense difference in energy level, brain fog, courage, lost 10 pounds, improvement in all areas. I started slowly with 1x1caps. daily and increased over some weeks to 3x3 caps daily the last months. I have at no point felt tendency to being hyper! I order from iHerb.com and have been very satisfied with their service. I can only recommend this great product. Since it also contains adrenal tissue it is more safe to take if you should have a problem with adrenal fatigue.

Thanks very much for that, you can't beat a recommendation. I am at the beginning of this challenging journey. I think it unlikely that the Doc will see that I have raving hypo next week, even though I have all the symptoms and it runs in my family, because my TSH is "normal" - so I preparing my escape route - I can't say that reading peoples problems on this site that I want the Thyroxine route anyway!!! Many Thanks to you X Sheenah

Hi sheenah,

I too have recently been diagnosed as a subclinical hypo which means my bloods are normal but borderline and my Endocrinologist has offerred me Thyroxine. I too have read much that puts me off of it and am going to try the NT and was wondering how you are getting on with it ? Also would like to hear about when you take it in relation to with/before food, and if you ever take it after consuming any form of calcium ?

Hope you're in good health !

Hi rsae56,

Could you please detail when and how you took the Natural Sources Raw Thyroid ? I have read that Thyroid meds should always be taken -

(i) approx 1 hour before food on an empty stomach with water and,

(ii) never taken with anything containing calcium as this will interfere with the absorption.

The instructions on the bottle says to take after a meal ??

Hope you're still getting great results, i'm about to start taking them soon.

Hi Rainbow100. I took the caps usually with meals and apart from supplements. I had such great results for approximately eight months then my symptoms came creeping back. I continued taking them for another half year but then switched to Eutirox and Tiromel (T3 and T 4) but didn't get the same good results as with NT. My guess is that I was straining my adrenals too much (had quite low cortical at a time).

The last four months I have taken LDN in addition to my thyroid meds. I have had improvement again in energy, sleep, mood and pail level.

Hope you get good  results with NT. It is a great product and I would like to come back at it and feel as I did.

Hi rsae56,

Thanks for getting back to me, sorry to hear it didn't work out so well in the end.

Has anyone here tried to vary the times when they took NS RT ? I realise the manufacturer recommends to take it with meals but I was just wondering about the fact that other thyroid meds are usually taken well before food on an empty stomach and without any form of calcium at time of taking the meds ?

Did you have any blood tests when you started to go downhill ?

Were you aware that NS also have a raw adrenal product ? And you can get a simple adrenal salivary test done, I had mine done by Genova Labs in the UK.

Wishing you good health !

Dear Sheena. Hope you find your way! I recomended RT to my two sisters also. They have similar problems as me. They also find it very helpfull. You should ask your doc to do a FreeT3 test, as this is the active hormon, that really counts.

I myself got a lot of help from dr David Brownsteins books /and DVDs: 'Overcoming thyroid disorders' and 'Iodine, why you need it, why you can't live without it!' After many years of unexplainable sufferings, I started educating myself and question the doctors conclusions: fibromyalgia, depression, PTSD, irritable bowel syndrome, the cause of very high cholesterol and more. The more I dumped the prescription medicin and changed my lifestyle, the better I felt. The last 6 years I have lived LCHF ( low carb, high fat, that has normalized my cholesterol level!!!) and avoided 26 food items, which I was tested hypersensitive for and learned to reduce stress in my life. The RT was a missing link too and for the last 4 months I have also used Natpro, a bioidentical progesterone cream, that has eased my menopause problems a great deal. Sometimes it takes several different actions to target the health issues, but my experience has shown me that it is worth fighting for the solution even if it takes some trial and error! Hope you will succeed in this too ;)

Hello, Thankyou very much for your extensive reply! I am 60 now, had 5 children by the time I was 26, and had a complete hysterectomy when I was 32. I was one of the pioneers in the use of natural progesterone cream and badgered the hell of my Doctors until they dreaded seeing me in the waiting room. I was great on it for years until the NHS pulled the plug on it, so I found an alternative source, and again was doing really well, Unfortunately, I took my consistent good health in relationship to the progest for granted, and when a kinesiologist friend suggested it wasn't actually doing anything, I stopped using it. That was just over 2 years ago, and I think I have gradually and unoticably been going down hill ever since. Anyway, after suddenly realising that I am hypo now, as was my mother and various other members of my family before, I have re- resourced it, and we are ready to go after the Docs apt next week. I agree entirely with you regarding allopathic meds. Thank you for taking the time to respond to me. Sheenah X

I buy the Natpro from a UK supplier (I'm from Denmark) I didn't want to ask my doc for it as I know it is only a few holistic doctors in Denmark that can prescribe it and I can't afford seeing them, alas!

Btw. I have 8 children ( and one in heaven) in the ages from 30-14y
