I am a female. I have symptoms of both. such as lots of abnormal weight gain. . itchy skin.dry skin, brittle and snapped hair but also lots of hair loss. loss of outer eyebrows .fatigue , memory loss. pains ,palpitations. red palms. terrible sweating episodes. terrible shortness of breathe,I did have a scan apparently ok and I saw one endo who said I would never have thyroid problems. my TSH results that I know are with a lab range of 0.4-4.0 are .= 1.58.. 2.08.. 3.08.. 1.2 , 0.35, 1.38, 0.86, 1.05, 1.06, 0.04, 0.04. 0.02, 1.62, 0.92, 0.58, 0.85, latest one being 0.52. Iv only ever seen one t4 and t3 which if i remember were both top end of normal. I am deficient in B12, Folic. Ferritin. vit D. Estrogen and Testosterone and am now on good treatment for all. But still have all these symptoms so must it be Thyroids ? Thank you in advance for any replies .

I believe that all those things in which you are deficient can stop thyroid hormones from working effectively, even if you are producing enough for yourself. How long have you been supplementing for? Do you know your current levels and have you had iron tested as well?

Hello thank you for the reply. Iv been on therapy for b12. for 6 years I went from 12 weekly jabs to 4 weekly and the past year iv been self injecting twice a week with doctors knowledge. Im on 3 iron tablets a day have been for a year and same for folic acid. I am now on Maintenance of 20,000 IU vit d dayly .and iv just started a new treatment for Estrogen and Testosterone a month ago although I was on Estrogen prior.. My last thyroid results is 0.52 so with all this good treatment going on the only thing I can think of is my thyroids . going by my past results I tend to lean more to hyper but iv a lot of hypo symptoms. . I just need a Dx and treatment then hopefully thats all my conditions sorted . .

Hello reallyfedup123 . I do actually have Pernicious Anemia when I was dx with atrophic gastritis and had biopsies done they said I had PA. . I had Thyroid antibodies tested when my Tsh was 0.02 and my ft4 was 23.1 lab range (9-25) ft3 was 6.4 lab range (2.8-7.5) the thyroid peroxidase antibody was 23.1 lab range ( 0-50 ) the TB11 (Trab) was pending but he filled it in without having the results and he put 0.36 lab range (1.0) that was total random. Im really fed up im on good treatment for everything but these symptoms drive me nuts. Do you think it looks like it could be my Thyroids ?

Hi Shirley . I take b12 injections., Ferrous Sulphate, 5mg Folic Acid.. 20,000 Dpro vitD I said dayly previous post but I meant weekly. giving by my Doctor. I use patches and testogel for my hormone deficiency on Gynecologists instructions but giving by my Doctor. All that can be left is Thyroids as I have symptoms of both. Issy suggested it could be Adrenals but Iv had cortisol tested a few months back and they say it was fine .
