Blood tests back today ,any advice please.

Hi ,can anyone give me there thoughts on what these blood tests mean,I have hashimotos and still feeling unwell,currently on thyroxine 125 .these are the blood results I got today TSH -0.018 . FT4-23.1. White blood count - 3.7 .cortisol- 287 ( 10.30 am ) IRON -12.0 and ferritin 12.1 .any advice would be great thanks .

your ferritin is low and may be even below the NHS normal range (usually from 20 and above), however the 'optimal' for ferritin is to be at least 70 so you need iron supplementation, ask your GP for it.

cortisol: you need the range, however blood serum cortisol is renowned to be 'useless'

ask for a vitamin B12 test, low levels of b12 can make you feel rotten too, when the ferritin goes up you should feel an improvement.

Hi,

Its good for you to trying to understand your labwork before you make any decisions. Lately I been diagnosed with thyroid nodules and tumor supposedly malignant. They haven't confirmed yet as I only did ultrasound and not biopsy. Its been 6 months. We will see.

Hi thanks for replying ,I'm seeing my doctor later and will show her the results ,it's just nice to get some input from people on here aswell as they are going through the same things.thanks for the link I will have a look at that ,I have hashimotos and a goitre which I had a radioactive iodine scan done 15 years ago and another one recently due my high tsh ,ft4 and low ft3 .have you got hashimotos ? Hope it all goes ok for you .

No. My thyroid hormone level seems to be normal. That is the main reason why I didnt' go for a biopsy. I am guessing I might have breast cancer and as my upper arms have a lump and pain and they had found a lump in my breast few years ago which they said nothing to worry and then again after a year they said no lump fund. So I am not sure whats going on .Perhaps they didn't do the memo right or may be nothing wrong. Just taking it easy for now. Let the nature takes its turn. If its become envitable I will consult with doc again.
