New blood tests, advice please?

I managed to get the locum Dr. to do some blood tests - which I was very pleased about. I am currently on 50 T4 and 20 T3. Feeling better than I was recently but still tired and a bit foggy (restless legs responded to mag citrate at night). Thank you for advice thus far.

Serum THS1.6 (0.30 – 5.50)

Serum Free T48.7 (9.00 – 25.00)

Vit D3 level69 (50-150)

Free T33.3 (3.50 - 6.50)

Are my rates between T3 and T4 ok? Should my D3 be higher. She didnt do B12 or Ferratin but I have an appointment with Endo early July so will ask then.

All the best.

When you're taking T3, the FT4 is more or less irrelevant. Pointless to try and stick to a certain ratio. Just make sure you're taking enough T3. And, you aren't. Your FT3 is below range! Most people need it up the top of the range to feel well. You could try increasing your levo, see if that brings your FT3 up a bit. But, you will probably need to increase your T3.

Do you take your T3 on an empty stomach, one hour before eating or drinking anything but water?

Your D3 would probably be better at 100. :)

Many thanks GreyGoose. Only water before bloods in the morning and 24 hours since meds. I'll talk to the endo re T4 /T3 increase and will look to improve D3 myself. Best wishes

No, that's not what I asked. I asked how you take your T3 every day? Do you take it on an empty stomach and wait an hour before eating? The same as you do your levo?

Sorry - I take both T4 and T3 about 16.30 so a good couple of hours after lunch and before supper. Probably an hour or so after a cup of tea.

FT4 and FT3 are both below range. So you probably need an increase. You are not taking much T4, so endo may suggest increasing that rather than upping T3 further.

Have you tried taking T4 at bedtime? Some of us find it more affective. But must still be on empty stomach

Do you take T3 in split dose, or just once a day?

Best get B12, folate and ferritin tested before see endo if at all possible.

Thanks for the info SlowDragon

I've tried taking T4 at bedtime but I am dreadful for remembering - perhaps I should try again... T3 I take mid-afternoon.

I'll ask the GP re the other bloods or I will get them done privately.

Appreciated.
