pain relief

Sorry, back again! Can anyone tell me the most effective pain relief when things are at their worst please? I have pills coming out of my ears at the moment and even contemplating taking amitriptyline today but am not happy taking all these meds as everything has side effects eventually and do not like the idea of taking what are happy pills, though a means to an end. Thank you.

hi sorry to hear you are going through this Poshy. I use paracetamol, I find it has the least side effects. Perhaps you have already tried this though?

I have never found paracetamol does much for me sadly. Will try paracetamol plus but that contains caffeine so not sure if my gut will like that element now.

Paracetamol does nothing for me, but Paracetamol plus helps a lot. Caffeine is the only difference. I am often told to drink coffee in the morning to wake me up and help me go, but it makes me feel wishey washey so I now take Paracetamol plus once a day. It usually works.

Amitriptyline will do nothing unless you take it regularly, you have to get used to it first. Taking it Willey Nibley will do more harm than good. I found the first 3 days made me very drowsy but after that felt the benefit of it. It does not suit everyone. You must have been prescribed this and should have been told.

I find healthspan aloe very tabs usefulAs well as meberverine or buscopan (antispasmodics) But they can cause constipation!

Good luck
